Beauty of Nature
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Nature provides us as humans with an endless amount of beauty to lay our eyes upon. Not only can the word beauty be used to describe pleasurable objects, but the word can also be used in reference to negative connotations to turn them into something with positive impact. For instance, one can find beauty in a tedious process because they find happiness in traveling down the path of the process itself as well of the end result of the object coming from the process. A great example of this comes from the narrative in the following paragraphs, Which the inspiration comes from the most recent post of Clingmanâs Dome in the Great Smokey Mountains National Park.
As the clock hits 3:00 AM, loud siren like noise blare from the phone to wake me up. I hurry to get dressed and hop into my car to make it to my girlfriendâs house at the designated time. We head on our way with the stars overhead shining ever so bright. Heavy are my eyelids as I focus on getting to Clingmanâs Dome. It seemed as if I made a mistake decided to watch the sunrise three and a half hours away on top of the highest point on the eastern seaboard. Once we were in the Smokeyâs a gravitational shift occurred in my mood almost as if the nature around me uplifted my spirit. Winding up the mountain with nothing but the beautiful landscape of wilderness surrounding me, placed me into a tranquil state of mind. More and more appreciation for the nature around started to arise within me, leading me to an internal debate over whether the decision to watch the sunrise was worth it. The dark sky with the radiating stars shining bright battled against the deep sea of trees clashing like two opposing sides at war with each other resulting in a distinct line of dark and light. This naturalist scene conveyed a deep-rooted beauty that has been on earth far before humans existed. As I continued up along the winding road, every possible moment I would sneak little peeks at the beautiful scene before me. The battle of light and dark was not the only beauty to be seen. It seemed as if in an instance a bold strong red outline over the mountain peaks put the war between light and dark at peace.
At that moment I came to the conclusion that not only was the red rising over the mountain peaks a peace bringer of beauty for the war between light and dark, but also a peace bringer of beauty for the internal debate within my own head. After that moment, I realized that there is beauty in the process no matter how the process might vary. The nature was beautiful, but so was the tiring journey of getting to desired destination. We ended up arriving early and was hoping to hike to observatory peak to get a 360 view of the sunrise. As soon I stepped out of the truck a piercing wind clashed against my skin causing a shiver to overcome me. The coldness clung to my skin but there was beauty in being cold because of my new found happiness and beauty that caused negative thoughts and factors into positive effects. The warmth of the truck was a safe haven to escape the coldness and it lead to beautiful embrace. Beauty was to be seen all around whether it been the various colors painted throughout the sky or whether it was the multitude of various different types of trees scattered on the mountains. Wherever one looks beauty can be found.
