cool like iced tea

As you slid your body down to sit on the floor, chest rising and falling labored breath, as you fished out your phone. For the past hour, your phone has been ringing off the book nonstop. And just as you pulled the device from your, Stile's, hoodie pocket it began to vibrate with another call. You fumbled with it as Stile's face stared back towards you from the screen.

"Fucking finally!" Stiles spoke. You could hear both the panic and relief in his voice.

He was speeding down the freeway with Scott beside him. The moment you went missing he knew that something was wrong. You never missed a pack meeting, if anything you would be mad when others were late. So when Scott called a meeting to discuss Derek and his pack - his stomach twisted when you never showed.

"Did she finally pick up?" You could hear Scott speak in the background.

"Where are you? We've been worried..." Stiles spoke again, ignoring his friend, noticing the harsh breath coming through the speaker. He spoke your name, voice a little softer, but the panic creeping back.

"I-I...I-I'm at the school..." You whispered, scared that he'd be able to hear you. "Please...please...please...he's here. He..."

Your voice halted in your throat when you heard the echo of footsteps. You pressed your back against the door more as they seemed to be getting closer and closer to where you were hiding.

"Y/N...come on, I just wanna talk," Issac spoke, but you could hear the malicious smirk you knew was across his lips. It sent a chill down your spine.

The call of your name pulled you back to the phone in your ear. "Please...hurry, I don't know how much longer I can run."

You clicked the phone off and began to slide your body towards the other side of the room. You placed your hand over your mouth to muffle your breathing, making sure you made no noise to let the werewolf know where you hid.

Stiles held tightly to the steering wheel as he moved to whip his Jeep around to head back in the opposite direction. He'd never pressed so hard on the gas pedal, pushing his already fragile car, to make sure he got to you in time.

He'd heard the fear in your voice. It made him fight back nausea that fought up to his throat.

"Did she say who was after her?" Scott rushed out. He was feeling just as panicked.

You, Stiles, and Scott have been best friends since the first grade. The three of you going through life together and standing at each other's side. Nothing changed after Stiles finally asked you out and the two of you began dating. If anything it brought the three of you closer together. And to know that you were in danger, without him anywhere close to save you, made him furious and scared.

"Do we really need to know who it is? We know who it is!" Stiles yelled, smacking his hand against the steering wheel. "Derek turned psychotic teens into werewolves...you've seen how Isaac has been looking at her."

Scott fisted his hands at his lap, feeling his claws dig against his skin. "It's my fault...I shouldn't have left her alone."

"They know the easiest way to crutch us is through her! She's human, Scott, if he gets her she's...she's..."

Stiles couldn't speak the words, shaking his head and letting out a shaky breath as he felt the tears start to fill his eyes.

"I can't lose her," Stiles spoke, his voice cracking.

"We're not going to," Scott vowed, looking through the windshield to see the school coming into view.

The moment Stiles pulled up into the parking lot, Scott was able to taste the fear in the air. He knew that it was you. The two of them rushed out the Jeep, Stiles barely putting in park, before running towards the entrance. But just as the two of them walked into the dark halls, a scream split through the silence.

You held tightly to your arm, feeling the blood move through your fingers, as you ran back down the hallway. The warm, sticky liquid now just helped Isaac find you more. He stalked after you and let out a laugh as he watched you stumble. He knew that he had you, now it was just for a little fun before he ended it.

Derek spoke of how Scott needed a message sent to him in order to get him to finally back off. Isaac knew how much you meant to Scott, how you were like a sister to him. No one else was going to be able to send a clearer message than you. Except maybe Stiles, but he barely left McCall's side - so the target became you.

And ever since you were a thought in Issac's mind, all he could think about was how your blood would taste after he'd rip it open.

You whimpered and pressed your hand harder against the wall for support, blood smearing against the wall, as you stumble and turned the corner.

Scott halted, causing Stiles to stumble beside him, as a scent hit him.

"What? What is it?" Stiles asked with labored breath.

"Blood," Scott spoke, "And a lot of it,"

He could see the fear in his best friend's brown eyes, watching as the color drained from his face. Stiles shook his head before moving back down the hall towards the direction the first scream came from.

He was truly hating now how large his school was.

Stiles ever saw himself as a religious person, but he was praying to whatever god would listen, to make sure he'd find you alive. That you'd all be able to leave here safe tonight.

He prayed that his forever with you would be longer than the few years he was able to have with you.

"...Please...please, Isaac..." You whimpered as he threw you against the lockers, your body smacking against the metal causing a loud noise.

Your knees buckled before you fell to the floor beneath you.

Issac laughed menacingly, "Oh, Y/N...you're just making this more fun for me..."

You tried to crawl away, but just felt his hand grab the back of your neck, before flipping you around. You felt the claws scrape against your skin causing you to cry out again.

"Now Scott will know not to fuck with our pack," His eyes flashing the familiar golden color.

You felt your body give out the need and will to fight leaving you.

"...Isaac...please..." You cried "I was always nice to you..."

"Mmmm, I know... a small part of me is sorry." He spoke with his claw drawing down along your cheek as tears fell from your eyes. "But a larger part of me just wants to kill you."

"Issac! No!"

Scott screamed down the hall, feeling himself shift, as he pushed himself down the hall harder.

Scott saw the look that crossed over Isaac's face.

Scott knew he was too late, but didn't stop.

Isaac turned back towards you and raised his hand before slashing across your chest. The scream of pain that ripped through you was enough to make Scott falter. From behind him, he heard Stiles scream, a different kind of pain moving through the small hallway.

Isaac bent down and bit into your skin and ripping it away. Blood dripped down his chin before Scott's body slammed into him.

Strangled noises came from you as you watched the two werewolves fight. You knew that Scott was stronger than the younger wolf. But it didn't matter - he was too late.

"No, no...no..." Stiles fell beside you, tears already falling down his cheeks as he looked over you. He couldn't tell where the blood was coming from as it pooled beneath you. "...hold on baby...I'm gonna get you to the hospital."

He moved his arms beneath you but felt your hand tighten at his bicep. Stile's brown eyes looked down towards you and could see it. He could see that you didn't wanna fight. He saw that you'd accepted it. He saw the finality of everything and it ripped a hole through his chest.

"No...no, please...you ca-can't...you can't leave me." Stiles sobbed, caressing your face, watching as your lips paled and your skin became colder.

"Will you just…hold me? please...o-one last..." You choked out, finding it hard to push the words out. Everything was becoming hazy.

Stiles moved to sit down and pull you into his arms. Not caring about the blood that stained his shirt and jeans. Not caring about the chaos he heard away from the two of you.

All he cared about was you, and holding onto the final moment he had with you.

"I l-lo-ove you..." You strangled out. "A-And tell Scott...i-it's not his fault."

Stiles nodded his head, holding you a little tighter. "I can't live without you...I love you too much,"

You opened your mouth to speak again but nothing came out. Instead, you just stared towards Stiles, wanting the last thing you saw to be his face.

You felt him bury his face into your hair when your eyes became too heavy to hold.

You heard his cries of pain, begging for you to stay with him.

You wanted to. You wanted to take his pain away.

But instead, you laid there dying in the arms of the one man that you loved.
