There are some conversations that leave me an end note before they even begin, I am afraid of knowing so much. I feel the edges of emotions so deeply that before they cut through me I bleed for them, I am afraid of feeling so much. I pick signs and read between the lines, I am afraid of hearing stories in a sigh. I don't know how to watch only what's visible, listen to just what's said, I am afraid of showing depths to shallow lakes. I knew it was something a lot more than just a coincidence, it was going to be a lot more than just a passing phase, I was afraid of always staying back. I was tired, exhausted and in that moment I only wanted to be by your side, I was afraid I'd keep crossing that line. I could do with just your voice, I could do with just some traces, but I am afraid of once again skipping promises.

I'm just trying to become someone who the child inside me will not hate. I'm trying to be everything she needed and did not receive. She is so lonely still. It's not fair that she is so lonely still.
