“-Kay. Pinky Promise?” he lifted his little finger up to his father, still in a half transformed state. “Are we going now? Are we?” he asked, tilting his head as he waited for the other to swear on their pinky finger. The premise of hunting on his own tomorrow made Dandelo get hyper. By now he figured out how to transform back, well formed as before.

“I will show you how good i am!!”

i’m having a hard time describing how i feel.

did we really go through all this for nothing?

people do bad things when they are trying to survive.

i don’t know who i am anymore. i am no one if i’m not self-destructing.

no matter what i do, i can’t get better.

and now i have nothing.

when are you going to stop punishing yourself for things you cannot control?

i replay that moment every night in my head.

they’re dead because of you.

maybe i lied when i said i was okay.

i am tired of being brave.

loneliness really fucks you up.

"I am strong enough! I can even transform myself already, see?" Dandelo tried his best to change into a horrible monster but only was able to do so half way, sticking in between two transformations. Tears of frustration hit Dandelo as he gritted his teeth.

"Please, I want to come with youuuuuuuu" now he was begging and tears started to drop down his deformed cheeks. The picnic was something Dandelo looked forward to as well, but the urge to show his father his hunting skills was stronger.

The sudden affection shown by his creator made Dandelo hold his breath for a moment before all the tense feelings fell off and got replaced by a feeling of overwhelming surprise. Once upon a bye, Dandelo yearned for every moment close to his creator, now after centuries of distance it felt strange, yet at the same time welcome.

“You must be really emotional right now when you resort to things like this” he tried to joke but failed horribly. His grip got tighter around his creators body and whatever made him do it, Dandelo began to raise a hand and began to stroke his father’s head, like It had done with him when he was nothing but a small deadlight, barely hatched. It felt right to do so somewhat.

“It’s okay, i will stay for a while until you feel better…”he muttered while continuing stroking Pennywise’s head gently. Dandelo was never a man of no words, he always had to talk, if moments like this came around, he was a little lost more than often. “Guess thats the circle of life, huh? Or whatever humans call it. You did the exact same thing to me when i was a fledgeling and now i am doing it for you” there was a horrible tightness in his throat as he battled with his own feelings.

Pennywise gave a short nod and gripped Dandelo closer. IT wanted to say something to IT’S child, but words wouldn’t come. A similar tightness gripped IT’S own throat and tears stung at IT’S eyes until they finally just bubbled over and dropped down IT’S cheek.

The clown stayed silent. Pennywise was the parent, IT should be the strong one comforting Dandelo when he was hurt or sad, not the other way around. The fact that IT was the one that needed comfort made Pennywise feel even worse, like a complete failure.

IT tried, and managed, to not break into disgusting sobs, but IT could not hide the fact that IT was crying for very long. Eventually, IT sniffled, giving away just how upset IT was, but IT finally managed to speak “–I’m a  t e r r i b l e  parent–”

"Don't be silly, there are worse parents than you in existence, like for example the Crimson King, or Roland of Gilead, who sacrificed his own adopted child because of his goal to reach a stupid tower" given, Pennywise probably not knew who Roland was, after all, only Dandelo had met him so far, but in matters of bad parents, Roland had been his best example.

"So you see, all is going to be okay, try thinking happy thoughts!" now Dandelo was in his element, humor and funny things were his true talent and he surely would do everything to cheer up his creator. He tried out a few jokes and hoped it would work.

But they wouldn't come, as much Dandelo tried to think of jokes, his ability to use them was blocked, by his own feelings it seemed. An alien wetness stung in his eyes as he realized he was mirroring his parents emotional reaction. His grip got tighter again and with one final crooked smile, he laid his head on his father's shoulder and stayed there, without saying anything.

“I have no idea what you`re talking about, but it sounds like you`ve had a rough time, old man. Just like me. Want to talk about it?” the other asked, half-jokingly, half-serious.

“I mean, you shared your food with me, which I am really grateful for. So if you feel to share other things, just go ahead.”

“Gonna see what i can do” Dandelo called back before exiting the lair for good, sniffing the air for potential victims. It didn’t took long for him to find exactly what he had searched for and thus the hunt began… While luring in his prey, his mind was back with Pennywise and IT’s eggs, the thought of having dozens of little siblings waiting to hatch was kind of strange for the entity to imagine. And how would Pennywise treat those offsprings then, like him? Sending him away to gods know where?

While he watched the child that he had chosen as victim died in agony, Dandelo started to get greedy and devoured the child himself. He just had to hunt a couple more kids, not a big deal, right? After all, their species was known for their gluttony.

“That one was tasty…mhh just like i love it.” licking his lips, Dandelo got up and looked around for more children to scare. Dandelo prefered adults instead of children, he liked the challenge they gave him, most of them resisted at first, but just that was something so incredible tempting that Dandelo couldn’t help but to love. A little like a cat.

A couple hours later:

Dandelo had found a dozen of children, most of them rather fat and juicy and now was on his way back. While dragging the children along, the entity let out a yawn, hunting had made him tired and he realized that he hadn’t slept for a long time, longer than usual. As he arrived back in the lair, Dandelo went straight to where Pennywise had been and threw the children on the ground for IT to eat.

“Sorry took a while, but here, have a good one. Just like you want them, fat, juicy and full of vitamins” he rolled his eyes slightly before sitting down on a rock, watching Pennywise in silence.

Pennywise barely looked up when IT’S oldest returned, IT’S nostrils flared slightly to smell the food but the clown moaned miserably and didn’t budge. Two more eggs had grown cold while Dandelo was out, leaving less than a dozen left. Usually around this point Pennywise knew the nest was done for, but IT wouldn’t give up. Just in case…

Just in case one made it like Dandelo had.

The creature finally raised ITSELF from the ground, not too far, IT was trying desperately to keep the nest warm with IT’S own body heat. “–Come here–” IT beckoned, not even caring about the food at the moment. 

Wearily Dandelo walked towards his father but hesitated a moment before finally getting close enough for the entity to touch him. Holding his breath, Dandelo felt strange, like his airpipe was closed off. Was it anticipation, longing even? For contact that had been broken off too soon? His eyes softened a little as he saw that two other eggs had gotten into the clearing and suddenly knew why Pennywise uttered the wish for him to come over.

"I am sorry about the other eggs...More of them died, am I right?" his voice was somewhat compassionated, wavering slightly. Emotional, Dandelo felt like an idiot at the moment, something stopped him engulfing his father into a hug or embrace. Something silly for sure... He never had much use for sad emotions or even fearful ones...

"Are you alright?"

“Well it was just a silly idea anyway so never mind!” he replied while raising another brow at the older eldritch. “I guess even someone like you needs some sort of...emotional support pets sometimes” Dandelo mused, laughing at the very idea of it.

“Ahh and here it goes, opportunistic as always... You let me stay here so i guess its only fair after all.” he sighed, tilting his head slightly. “ Alright, got any preference? But remember, i rely on laughter for salting my meat and when i kill the prey, it will taste a lot different than your usual gusto of fear, old man” Dandelo said before turning around, leaving the chasm they were currently. It had been a while since he hunted so in his mind he went through his comedic routines again to freshen up. First there had to be fitting victims, Dandelo prefered lean, low fat meat, but knew that Pennywise needed something more rich so to speak so he decided to go for a good mixture, fat and lean mixed, like mixed pickles, just instead pickles there are humans...

“Never thought you`d be that sentimental, old man. Be it as it may, i hope for your sake that those eggs will survive, or at least for our kin´s sake if you want...because i don’t plan to have any kids in the near future” he added nonchalantly, crossing his arms in a matter of factly pose.

“Why don’t go ahead and adopt some creatures if you want children so bad. Like that brat of the Crimson King, Mordred. God knows that kid is desperate for someone giving him attention. Nasty little mofo” Dandelo muttered, scratching the back of his head, lingering in unpleasant memories. Though did he really suggested that? The long days without food must have gone to Dandelo’s head it seemed.

In the entities head a funny scene took place in which Mordred came staggering up to Pennywise, calling him Daddy, with a face upon its small features that were borderline diabetes inducing. A chuckle escaped the others lips.

“Maybe you could be a good Da` for that little brat” it was more a joke as anything else and Dandelo was sure his creator would not really take it serious either. Right?

Good news everybody, Pennywise and Harry cancelled the CRIMSON KING

Pennywise was right, Dandelo didn’t really meant what he said, but still, a little part of the shapeshifter was curious on what could his creator meant with what he said, something that also concerned him? Following the other silently, Dandelo realized that the deeper they went, the more it felt unfamiliar and strange. In this part of the cave he never was before which only heightened his curiosity.

“It’s been a while since ive been down here, there are ways i never saw before, where do they lead us?” his voice was gruff, yet had a tint of honesty wonder in it.

“You make me curious, old man. What is it you want to tell me…”

“–You’ll see–” Pennywise replied and continued to lead Dandelo deeper into the Earth. They were very far from the surface, and the familiar stink of the sewer, there was a whistle of wind through the tunnel, suggesting there was another exit somewhere closer than the well in Neibolt. 

It was pitch black in the cavern, but Pennywise could see just fine in the dark and finally came to a stop at a small underground pond, filled with fresh water. A few small creatures, insects and lizards, scattered at their approach, but this wasn’t what Pennywise wanted to show IT’S offspring.

“–Look here–” Pennywise said softly, leaning down over a cluster of spherical shapes, shapeshifting into a larger version of ITSELF and kneeling over them protectively.

Eggs.

Pennywise glanced behind IT, where similar clusters laid, though IT did not go to check on them. They were dead and lifeless. This little batch still lived, Pennywise was dedicating all IT’S efforts in keeping them that way. Perhaps soon Dandelo would have a few baby siblings.

"We go way down, now do we?" he muttered, waving off the smell in annoyance. As Pennywise suddenly had stopped, Dandelo could feel himself stepping into something gooey. Looking down he could see what he had just stepped into.

"Shit... Are those all eggs? They don't seem to be alive!" Dandelo stated, looking solemnly at the now blackish goo that was former eggs. His younger siblings. The other got closer and leaned over the spot his creator was standing. What he saw made him gasp for a minute, before his usual laid back expression returned.

"I think you were quite busy since I left home..." he muttered, glad to see that some eggs had survived. "What happened with the others in the back?" raising a brow, Dandelo waited for an answer.
