Anissa had figured she won’t like the hear the truth. Greta had her own right to believe what she was doing was foolish. “He would. I know he would. We spoke about coming clean about our relationship together to the family. He has been honest with him about his cruel behaviours in the past but I do believe he is trying to change. He was hostile to me at first but started to change the more serious we got. He is trying. Just give him time.” Anissa knew change came in time and could not be rushed. “I actually think you two will have more in common than you both think.” She felt in her gut they would hit it off. “A few months. Back home people I know have gotten married in only days of knowing someone. I figured it was slow in the traditional sense.”

 Greta listened as her cousin talked, knowing that she could argue until she was blue in the face, but Anissa wouldn’t listen. “Well then, would you mind asking him to meet with me? I’m sure he’d agree if it were coming from you.” She said, raising a brow. “Yes, but people back home typically don’t have many options for marriage. They’ve also grown up and known each other since they were young.”

“I do think my response to that question will just angry you.” Anissa sighed her eyes falling to the floor. “I truly do appreciate the about you care and worry about me. He seems to want to spend all his time with me. I do not believe someone who wanted me for merely personal gain would that that. When you meet him, if you feel he is. Do tell me.” Anissa said for her to have clear of mind but likely won’t listen anyways. “Rush things? Is it early to be making such plans?”

“You’re right... I don’t like how that response sounds.” She replied, shaking her head. “Would he be willing to meet with me? Do you even think he’d want to make peace?” Greta asked, raising a brow. “I believe it is. How long have you been seeing him?”

“Yes, I think that’s a good idea. I think coming here was the bad idea.”

“No, you wanted to see your family. And I stupidly followed you. I need to rest...”

Anissa body tightened at her rude remarks. Her lips firmly pressing together as Greta spoke. “I ensure you once you meet him you’ll see I am no fool. Thank you for giving him a chance.” At least someone was going to try a. little before judging them too much. Anissa’s stomach dropped when she asked what she knew of love. “I may not have had a stream of lovers in the past but I do know what we have is real. That I wish to spend all my time with him for the rest of my life, that when I’m not around him it hurts. That he when he looks at me he gets a sparkle in his eye, a look he only gives me. He is honest even if it’s not what I want to hear. He even wants me to move in with him. Is that not love?”

Greta raised a brow and squeezed her cousin’s hands. “He wants you to move in with him? Tell me you’re not actually considering it?” She asked, letting go of one of Anissa’s hands. “He could be manipulating you. I just want you to be extremely careful and to not rush things.”

“It was…enjoyable. I don’t know where you were. It was just me, and then she came in.”

“I don’t want to be here anymore... Let’s go to Italy. Start over. Please?”

“After the fact? No, I didn’t.”

“But during? While it was happening? Where was I?”
