YU YU HAKUSHO IS MY FAVORITE ANIME

I’m not kidding about this. It isn’t technically “the best” I’ve ever seen but I watch it at least 2 or 3 times a year! I don’t feel inspired to make a lot of fan content for, but that’s honestly because I don’t feel like I have much to add! It’s great! 

I highly recommend the english dub. Most dubs are trash, but some are known for ever so slightly improving on the source material and YYH is one of those! Justin Cook and Christopher Sabat get special mention. Even the ops and eds are dubbed and sound great!!! I miss dubbed anime songs so much dude, we’re really missing out. As a society.

There’s a lot of stunningly animated sequences, especially those led by Akiyuki Shibou and Atsushi Wakabayashi. The techno sfx are unique and fit the series SO UNBELIEVABLY WELL. The visuals and sound production are really, really good.

A lot of people say the show peaked at the Dark Tournament Arc (ends at about the halfway point). These people are MEN. The show is SO much more than punching and fight scenes. The character and world development gets better and better as the show goes on and the fights have more weight.  Every brooding morally-gray anime boy is a Hiei expy. Every tournament arc wishes it was the Dark Tournament Arc. When I die I want all 112 episodes of Yu Yu Hakusho projected in my casket so I can keep watching it.
