Starting a new relationship is always scary. But this isn’t new. This is seven years in the making. What started off as young, drunken hookups has turned into (after much time) something so wonderful that I look at him asleep in bed and I just…can’t. I can’t wrap my head around why he came back after so long, what changed between then and now that makes everything feel so easy, or why he wants me at all. It’s fucking scary as hell. He makes me smile. He makes me feel wanted. He makes me laugh. He gets along with my friends. He’s so smart about so many things.

And all I want to do is run away because I can’t handle the thought that potentially, one day, he’ll look at me and change his mind. And I’ll be right back where I started.
