Peter chuckled. “Don’t worry, man. Not really mad. You can have the rest, I’ll just get another one.”

“Dude, really? Thank you.” He smiled as he took another bite.

“Right. So Po I don’t think i’ve seen you around here. Did you just move here?”

“Yup! Was it that easy to notice?”

“Thank you,” Ella said gratefully, taking the container and fork. “How is your day going? Seems that you were a bit lost in your thoughts there.”

“It’s good, just hungry, but that’s normal. I’m always hungry, what about you? How’s your day?”

“It’s lovely to meet you Po.”

“It’s nice to meet you too, Belle. Question, is your name written like bell, the ring ding ding kind, or differently?”

she takes it, not expecting the kindness but happy to accept it anyway. 

“thanks… I’m Coraline.”

Po smiled widely at her and continued eating. “ ‘m Po.”

Al didn’t know what say. Even if the dude was exaggerating it was weird to hear someone refer to him as a friend. “Uh thanks.  My names Al.” He said as he took a seat next to the stranger. 

“I’m Po. Like powder without the wder part and sounding completely different.”

“Yes that was my order. I would like it back please. Is it still warm?” Ella smiled back at him.

“Oh-Um. Yeah, kind of, it’s at eating temperature still.” Po said, holding up the container and fork to the nice stranger.

“That sounds great. I’m Belle, you are?”

“My name is Po. Like pokemon without the kemon.”

Peter chuckled and shrugged. “You pretty much ate all of it. How are you gonna give it back to me? Regurgitate it like mother birds do? No, thanks.”

“Well, there’s a little bit left. I was hoping to give that back.” He shrugged.

Belle turned, spotting the big sign that she’d clearly missed when glancing around before. “Well, don’t I feel stupid.”

“Don’t we all?” He teased. “I can walk you over there, if you want to. “

“I mean you already ate half of it so don’t worry about it.” Al said sighing “I wasn’t really hungry anyway.”

“Really?” Po grinned. “You’re my new best friend, dude!”

she rolls her eyes good naturedly, waving a dismissive hand over the food. she’s dissapointed over the loss of her meal (damn, she’d been craving a VEGGIE burger), but she’d learned situations like this tended to lead to interesting conversations. “it’s fine. mind if I sit here? it’s really crowded in here.”

Po felt bad for the girl, so he ripped a unbitten half of the burger and held it towards her. “It’s okay, how about you sit and we eat together?”
