They can do it all! ... kinda

I just wanted to reimagine different uniforms for Lily as I drew these a little after The Secret Truth of Lily Lovebraids. To the left was the uniform I imagined they'd be in at the Diner, and to the right is their HOA outfit! Now, with them working at a restaurant, I'd love to come up with a design for that next (I'm especially excited to see what hairstyle to put them in)!

Quick practice sketches I made after the Catnap in jail animatic I had made. I thought it'd be a little more fitting for Dogday to be more expressive with his ears, and Catnap would be a little a little more subtle during moments of vulnerability.

I hate the outfits I put Rabie in ;_; But it certainly had me thinking that if their wings were attached alongside their arm, how would a long sleeve shirt work? Would there be slits so their wings could hang freely and comfortably? I think at the time that I drew these, I had a hard time just visualizing it, so I attached their wings to their back for the sake of the drawing. I for sure would like to do a do-over on these outfits whenever I have time

American McGee's: Alice Madness Returns! I absolutely ADORE this game and the stylization of it! What started off as simply sketching Baba in the Steamdress outfit turned into drawing a few other critters in some of the other outfits in the game. I did not do these dresses justice. Unrelated note, but I remember being super excited about OZombies because I really loved the designs for the characters, only to learn that the game had been canceled (same with Alice Asylum)💔

Concept ideas for yet another animation I had in mind (not sure if I'll commit yet). I'd love to do the Alter Ego trend, but rather than having Catnap fall, they'd be performing on a stage in drag. It doesn't stray far from the actual trend, I have a reference board dedicated to the different poses they'd do, and I plan for each pose to have a different outfit (which I've been working on whenever I feel inspired). These are just a couple of ideas that I have so far (I love the alien themed look). The one on top was a first attempt, and I think it's cute, but I would like to tie the look back into Catnap somehow. Like, for the Alien themed appearance, it's supposed to tie back to them sorta suppressing/hiding vulnerable emotions (I'm basing this off of this one scene, so I don't really know how accurate this is to the character), which could lead to feelings such as loneliness/alienation as they're dealing with their own emotional baggage internally and by themself. I don't plan for each outfit to carry a heavy meaning to it (I have a few drafts for an outfit just on sleep, I'm just trying to figure out how to make an outfit based on a bed lol) If I don't end up doing the animation trend, I will for sure post the final product of the drawings :)

Concept Sketches for an animatic I hope to commit to in the future. It's just this song paired with Golden and his boys, adjusting to his new role as their father while also balancing his previously established responsibilities as a dimensional guardian.

Hoppy as Sailor Jupiter it's because they're both sporty and have green in their color scheme! I drew this before attempting to come up with a design for them. I liked the idea of having their ears tied back (like Lola Bunny from the Looney Tunes Show), and I wanted to incorporate it into my design for them. However, I didn't want to restrict myself on just that design choice, so I made alternative versions with pigtails and braids.

I've been sitting on these designs for a couple of weeks, and looking back now, I really like the upper left corner design. Something else I've been struggling with are the colors for the outfit. Hoppy seems to be an upbeat kind of character, and I want the colors to kind of reflect that. I want the colors to pop in their design.

Clarice! Yippee! I had sketched this out on paper before converting it digitally. They were originally supposed to be accompanied by the Doctor, but I wasn't sure where to position him (even in the og sketch, he was just kinda there🧍). I tried a different method of shading, using the lasso tool instead to isolate the areas where the shadows would be. I like the way the shading came out, and I had fun experimenting with the lasso tool!

This is based on the Soul Eater Au from a previous post. I just wanted to brainstorm and have some fun with the idea of soul resonance between Crafty and Bobby. While the wavelength of their souls are linked and evenly matched, Crafty's weapon form increases in size and takes on a more ethereal form (still yet to be designed, but I'd imagine it like something like this. And maybe there'd be accessories attached to the edges, like flowers and whatnot).

I was contemplating whether or not to post this until I finalized my designs for Hoppy and Kickin, but it's taking me a little longer to settle on a design I like for Hoppy (I'll get more into the drafts in a future post).

I've had Bubba's and Simon's design finalized for a couple of weeks now. I was actually really excited to draw Bubba the most, and I thought it was gonna be a bit of a challenge since I've never drawn an elephant-themed character before. Actually, the one that posed more of a challenge was Simon (╥﹏╥)

For Bubba's lightbulb accessory, I made it a part of their glasses (like the glasses in the inspo pic below). For the brainstorming/envisioning process, I was debating whether or not to give them a small tuft of hair but ultimately decided against it because it looked a bit out of place for me (HC: Their hair burned off/j).

Looking back on this design after two-ish weeks, I think I'd make their ears a little bit bigger and rounder.

I had finished Simon's design a little before their png photo from a stream was updated, so I went ahead and made an alternative version for their hairstyle based on their actual design in the thumbnails. Something I'd change about my design is to make the ear piercing a little bit bigger and maybe adjust the color of the studs on the jewelry.

Recently decided to revisit this series, and I can't believe I've never drawn fanart for it. While binging Heart Point, it reminded me of when my friend and I would watch Mystreet episodes and draw together after school, so I did quick redraws of my old art.

For the original concept I had in mind, Crafty's weapon form was supposed to be a medieval jousting sword, and Bobby was supposed to wear armor.

I had so much fun putting together the collage for this piece! I also had fun experimenting with the grayscale technique for shading. Personally, I found it a lot easier and didn't need to worry too much about blending in colors. I love how this came out, and I'm extremely proud of the way the camera looks and the chain attached to it!

I really loved the second rough sketch, but I struggled with drawing the mimic from behind (I couldn't find any references for it), so I decided to modify it a bit by combining the second & third sketches. I also fully intended for there to be a shooting star in this piece, and I even made a small animation of it, but it came out so subtly that I decided to scrap it ;-;
