The past month has been very eventful for Kalilah’s “love life.” In that time frame, she’s been to see Derek twice. The first time in New York was really to visit a friend, but she and Derek had planned to hook up again like previously when they’d met in LA. However, that one night turned into breakfast the next morning, then lunch even after she’d left his place. The daily texting continued and things slowly heated up between them until he then invited her back to see State Champs’ hometown holiday show. This whole time, Kalilah was wondering what was going on between them. They’re not the best at being clear about that but she’d been getting some vines from Derek that were more than just hook up ones, while she herself was slower to return the feelings. When he finally asked her on a date about a week ago, how excited she found herself to be confirmed that she too was on her way to feeling something more for him.

The concert was December 29th, and that experience really opened Kalilah’s eyes to how she feels about Derek. She loved being there and was especially giddy when he motioned her up front and crouched down to take her hand before their last song. Right after the show backstage Kalilah was surprised when he kissed her right when they got to each other, but melted into it. Then they went on their first date (/ we are still in a para of this atm so I will edit this update when I can. I would rather have it go naturally than plan it out so I can update on time) Right now, kalilah is not thinking about how long the distance is right now, but knows her heart wants him.

Derek then asked Kalilah on another date just a couple days later, New Years Eve. However, Kalilah had plans with her sisters and brother for a little party and ended up inviting Derek as her plus one. She was slightly nervous about introducing him so soon when they’re not even technically an item yet, but she had a great time at the party even though she had to sing Bootylicious karaoke with a dance routine courtesy of Gigi. The two lovebirds even shared a New Years kiss when the ball dropped, which was perfect. After the party they went back to Derek’s place to end the night.
