happy super bowl sunday to wikipediaās list of the top 10 most-watched television broadcasts in the united states
[ID: a screenshot of a table listing the top 10 most-viewed television broadcasts in the united states, as well as their number of viewers and the date aired. All of them but one are Super Bowls from the 2000s. Number 9 is labeled āM*A*S*H (āGoodbye, Farewell, and Amenā)ā, also known as the M*A*S*H finale, which aired in 1983. End ID.]
that whole storyline where bj is like āi would NEVER yell at a patient iām in perfect control at all times iām the sanest person everā @ hawkeye before almost strangling said patient because he threatened hawkeye truly a succinct summary of eight seasons of bj desperately trying to be normal while actually being two seconds away from losing it
@bigblackturtle This is almost certainly The Wire.
Terrible argument, though. Literally just tu quoque. Itās not even an especially good one. Equating shooting people dead to prosecuting murderers in a court of law requires an especially underdeveloped sense of logic.
You seem to know enough about the show to recognize it from a few gifs but clearly not enough to absorb a single theme from from it.
The whole show is built around the idea that everything in the city, and the nation, is deeply interconnected. From the lawyers and politicians and real estate developers who quietly take drug money...to the police and the press and the public figures whose careers are made by the ebbs and flows of the war on drugs...to every person and piece in the supply chain that allows contraband to slip through. The point of the show is that more lives and livings are intertwined with the drug trade than those you may see on the surface.
In this scene, Omar is testifying against a murderer. The lawyer who is attempting to discredit him is a criminal defense attorney, not a prosecutor. Specifically he is a criminal defense attorney who is on the payroll of one of the largest drug trafficking organizations in the city. He profits off defending them in court, he profits off laundering their money.Ā He is as much a āparasiteā of the drug trade as Omar is, the main difference is that he pretends otherwise.

This pretty pink wool coat was designed by William Travilla for Betty Grable to wear as the characterĀ āStormy Tornadoā in her last film How to Be Very, Very Popular in 1955. In 1978, in the seventh season episode of M*A*S*HĀ entitled Major Ego, Jamie Farr wore the coat as Corporal Maxwell Q. Klinger.
Because Farrās character was often seen cross-dressing, he wore a number of costumes that had earlier been donned by the stars of the then 20th Century Fox Studio. Farr is known to have worn at least one other gown previously worn by Grable, as well as a Cleopatra costume that had once been worn by Ginger Rogers.Ā
A wonderful article from The National Museum of American History, who currently owns the coat writes that:
In 1979 Farr wore another Ginger Rogers dress, not owned by the museum, that the actress recognized from years before. Miss Rogers was at the studio filming a Love Boat episode (Season 3, Episode 10), and they ran into each other in the 20th Century Fox canteen while breaking for lunch.
According to Farr, she got quite a kick out of it, telling him, āI saw the show where you wore my outfit and, I have to tell ya, it looked a helluva lot better on you than it did on me.ā
