My game crashed right at the end of a stage (I had JUST touched the treasure chest to end it). When I got back into the game, though, the first thing I saw once I got past the loading and start screens was the results screen for the level I had crashed on

Firstly, I’m so happy my computer can actually run it. My graphics card is no where close to the recommended (in the positive direction, modded MC made me upgrade) but my CPU is a touch below recommended which worried me; I’ve had some hiccups with moderately high settings but nothing too bad.

I’m enjoying the combat a lot, Switch Axe is so chunky feeling and I love the new counter, Offset attack, and Full Release Slash moves, I briefly hopped on world to help someone farm mats and my moveset felt so empty in comparison.

That said, I’m a bit iffy on the wound mechanic. I love it conceptually and the temporary wounds when a monster does select attacks are great, it’s a natural progression of attacking during an opening and rewards good positioning/dodging/attention on the player’s end. But (and admittedly I’m only a little bit into High Rank now so perhaps this will change as I work through it) the ones you make via your attacks seem a smidge too plentiful for the benefits they provide (free damage and holding the monster still while you do your focus attack). I wouldn’t be upset if they nerfed them just a touch in a later update

Positive note, I love the Seikrets, I’ve missed having a fast mount that I can sharpen my weapon on and they’re incredibly cute. Before I got the game, despite my best effort to avoid info about it, I did hear about them automatically Ubering you to the monster on their own which I immediately turned off because fuck no. We MEANDER in this house, main objective be damned.

Here’s mine, I modeled the colors of the hoatzin which are pretty similar in vibe to the Seikrets as far as modern birds go, they even have little claws on their wings! Although hoatzin claws far less developed than the claws on Seikrets. I named them Brimstone because of the fiery colors and because hoatzins are unfortunately known for their… odor (Also shhhhh I know sulfur burns blue but it was too cool/fitting of name to pass up)

I thought it would be closer in vibe to the hoses dentists/hygienists use to rinse out your mouth but like a bit stronger but it is so much more intense

Well deserved title of the hardest hunt in the game holy shit. Have to say though, these videos (skills/food and fight strategy) were a huge help. I didn’t even really follow the skills super closely (because I loathe grinding for decos) nor use SnS (because I have no skill on any other weapon) and was able to do well because I followed the siege weapon playbook and went bananas on ZSD, tenderizing, and throws like they showed.

A further shoutout to @deathsascension for suggesting Golden Rathian + Raging Brachy stuff because holy hell those skills are goated. I had those sets as potential Alatreon builds but didn’t end up using them in favor of Namielle Gamma so I’m happy those gear pieces got to help with an even harder fight later down the line
