I went to a new thrift shop recently! In Mainz.
Here's some books I thought were cool, cuz of the illustrations
They had a copy of Beavis & Butthead do America, so I picked that up, alongside a Rolling Stones CD and an old Russian film of a fairy tale on VHS.
Uhh, drawings of me. I've drawn myself as a simple round head, almost a stick figure for most of my days (you can see this if you snoop around the tiniest bit), so drawings like this are to try to depict a more accurate depiction of myself while still staying as wacky as I like. I always turn out really scraggly
Scribbles with Slank. I like giving my characters realistic details here and there, which I feel like you normally wouldn't expect with these types of designs. The screams came to be after I rewatched FLCL and was reminded of one of my favorite scream/panic drawings (I really like the dub but this moment is a rare occasion where I feel it doesn't do justice to the original, which is just such a GUTTERAL scream)

BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER | 4.10 "Hush"
I've been playing Mario Paint with my sister here and there. Surprisingly decent of Nintendo to let you use any ol' USB mouse to play the SNES mouse titles.
I totally would've drawn him in the green jacket, but the only green tones were TOO green and not teal like the actual "green" jacket he wears. I know the red is iconic, but part II just WEARS ME OUT MOST OF THE TIME. Funny clips aside, it's comparatively shallow. Zenigata is also more of a bumbling idiot than anything, it's often him against the world because he can't get anything right. He doesn't even ever have a platoon of policemen to follow him around, you NEED the squad

They couldn't have gotten the guy to look at least a little bit more enthusiastic

Here's some comparisons of the Lupin III pilot film and its TV version, since I watched it for the first time today. Reading about it on Wikipedia reveals some fun factoids. Click on read more for a LOT more images.
Buuunch of Lupin III doodles... some are copies from Part 1 (more specifically, the final episode), the rest are original. Watching Dragon Ball for the first time got me in the mood to draw anime... Lupin III is one of the most un-anime animes, but hey I know what I like
Some Mario & Luigi doodles in-between projects, based on the Mario OVA. I recently watched the fan-made dub of it with some PALS, and it was such a delight! The amount of effort that went into it to basically create all of the audio from the ground up is crazy... and it's really good too! It captures the cheesieness of old localisations very well, especially with the changes such as the birthday party and the prince being Peach's brother.
I really like the drawings of Mario & Luigi in there... they have a lot of fun expressions and poses (some of them feeling like Looney Tunes drawings, which fits with how they tried to make it more internationally appealing) and they're always slightly bow-legged. This early version of Luigi is really cool too, who's more of an indulgent, gluttonous money lover rather than a coward.
I also like this more mundane version of Mario & Luigi, who aren't estabilished heroes yet and are rather dragged into this whole mess. Hell, Luigi's not even there to rescue anyone! They do this in the new Illumination movie too, but I like this movie way more for it and in general out of principle.
That's also due to the interpretation of what little there was of Mario back then... they crafted this really whimsical and joyous adventure through the Mushroom Kingdom, with two goomba brats that try to manipulate them, flying air crafts, Toads that look more like aliens than anything; these versions of well estabilished Mario elements are almost bizarre from today's perspective, and I'm all for it, since I haven't been interested in new material from the series for a hot bit.
Just gave this deer antlers............. progress is progress.
Also, not gonna say what the hell this is yet! But it's pretty cool
rushed to the train station in the first time over a week, only for my train to be late anyway. deutsche bahn ist good, deutsche bahn ist nice

I bought some music CDs
I don't know jack squat shit rabbit about the music on there. I am hoping to discover some neat songs to listen to, since I feel like my music taste is rather limited (and compilation CDs should be good for this), but I mainly just liked the covers. The enthusiasm of that lady slipping halfway our of her right sneaker smiling with the power of a thousand grey suns is infectious. The demon cats and the tiny dog character are very silly. And the 1998 chart hits CD has a weird ass 3D render on there. I did buy the 60s/70s CD pack because that era of music is something I've never bothered to listen to, at least not in recent memory.
Also, the dog's skin is transparent on the CD, making him a cyborg mutt.
