An android supposedly “inspired” by the real Hatsune Miku, the survival of culture in the future hinges on bringing her back to life.

Hello everyone! We’re returning from hiatus with plans to upload revamped character bios and finally open asks to all of the major characters (Miku/Hanami, Len, Fukase and Oliver) after they’re up! Currently unanswered asks may have to wait a bit as I’m still working on end-of-semester assignments. I made some art of Hanami to commemorate reaching 1k+ followers on one of my other socials, and it was Dualoid that brought me over that number. No matter how much time passes, Hanami’s story will always be incredibly dear to me, so let’s get this ball rolling!

There's several reasons! I wanted to pay tribute to the Vocaloid community and its impact on fans and artists like myself, so much like the real world, Hatsune Miku is a human-created idol who can be anything anybody wants, the only difference being that her popularity led to her becoming a mass-produced line of androids whose bodies outlasted our current civilization and became forgotten in Dualoid's timeline. Her legacy persists eons into the future through the given name of the human protagonist Miku "Hanami" Hanaoka, whose dream of rebuilding the legendary figure she was named after leads to her rediscovery of Vocaloid and its creative culture.
