I know in hell where Edwin meets Simon that Edwin only looks at one page, and it has S+E on it, but it's probably very likely that every page has it. So it's not just him being punished with papercuts. He also has to tear out his queer feelings essentially, and he will only be freed once the pages are all gone, but the book keeps replenishing. So, he has had to sit with the fact that he is queer and eventually started to believe that's why he was being punished. He believes it has to be torture to be queer, only for Edwin to come along and tell him that if he hates himself, he will always be tortured, and only then does he think that maybe he doesn't have to tear out the pages anymore. Because someone told him it was ok and he didn't have to punish himself.
So yeah, I love this scene a lot, and it says a lot of very interesting things.
I've been pondering this for a second, but I have this theory that ghosts can feel other ghosts, and the show kind of has this emphasis on kissing. Such as Charles misses kissing, and Edwin never got to experience his first kiss before he died. Now, technically, Edwin had his first kiss with Monty and Charles kisses Crystal, but they can't feel it physically. I don't know. I just feel like it's set up to be really beautiful if Edwin and Charles ever do kiss.
I don't understand why people are saying that we need more unrequited queer romances in media. We spent literal decades with the bury your gays, queerbaiting, and just in general sad gays who can't be allowed to be happy. If you want that, just look in the vault. It's there. Not to mention that the show does have unrequited queer romances in forms of Monty/Edwin, Cat King/Edwin, and Simon/Edwin.
As long as they come back to the question of "Could Charles fall in love with Edwin," there shouldn't be a problem whether they get together or not, but to say we need more unrequited queer romances just in general and that's why they shouldn't get together? Nah, I don't get it.

I've seen a few posts like this now, but I really don't think charles is going to "magically" fall in love with Edwin. If it is revealed that charles returns edwins feelings, it's going to be because those feelings were already there. He just hasn't thought about them, and that's a real experience. The ground is basically already set up in season 1, where charles cares deeply for Edwin, which, btw can be read as platonic or romantic. It just depends on how they are going to write the story. All that to say, no, charles isn't going to magically fall in love. He's already been in love this whole time.

Ok, it's time to post about my opinions on the different relationships, so I'm not doing so in the middle of the night when I'm supposed to be sleeping.
To start off, I just want to say that these are all just my own opinions at the moment of posting, and I'm not trying to drag anyone for what they ship. People can enjoy what they want even if I'm just meh on it.
Crystal and Charles
Alright, so let's get this one out of the way first. I appreciate how the show kind of portrayed this as them going to each other for comfort more than for love. That being said, if this shows' goal was to make me think they were going to be an endgame pairing, then it failed. I think that they'll have their thing, but settle on just being friends, and that can still be beautiful. I just don't see it working out in the long term with Crystal being alive, and I don't feel like she is going to die. The show works well with her being alive and the boys being dead. Half the comedy is her interacting with the boys while everyone else just stares at her like wtf. They could very much be right person wrong time.
Monty and Edwin
I really like Monty. I love him, and that scene with him and Edwin on the swings was so sad. I don't know how much further this pair could go with Monty being a bird again, but I want to hope he can return. I feel like there is a little more to explore with this being that they were each others first kiss, and it could be cute, but not endgame.
Cat King and Edwin
I'm very meh on this one, unfortunately. I can see the appeal, but it just doesn't read to me, and I tried getting into it. I don't think they'll be endgame, but this one has the 2nd most potential.
On a separate note, this is the pairing that also makes me question why they didn't age the characters further. I feel like how ghosts mature after death needs to be explained a bit further. Otherwise, I see this being quite a fandom divider, and there has already been some division. Again, though, ship what you want. I literally don't care because these are fictional characters.
Charles and Edwin
Obviously, this is the big one. I adore this ship, and it has the potential to be exceedingly beautiful, whether it ends in friendship or romance. I, for one, want it to be canon because I would love to get a queer slowburn best friends to lovers romance arc for once. I feel like I never see long-standing male friendship that becomes romantic. It's either they've become close because they are into each other, or they were friends, but not best friends, and it always happens in a single season. I will say as well though that if they just remain friends I'd be perfectly fine with it as long as they revisit the possibility of it happening, because you can't have Charles say what he does in response to Edwin's confession and not revisit. Like the chapter isn't closed yet.

No, I won't suspend disbelief that these mid 20 year olds are playing 16 year olds, and no, witches not being real and a character not looking remotely the age we are told they are is not the same thing.
Witches (in a magic fantasy sense, not a rl sense) are not real in this world, but people looking their age very much is. One can be achieved, and the other simple can't.
I love this show, and I will continue to love it, but I'm going to point out the flaws I see because that's what I do with media I care deeply about.
I can't bring myself to care about the ages of these characters. I just can't. I get that you need older actors because obviously Charles and Edwin are ghosts and won't be able to age physically anymore, and you can't stop kids from maturing and having their appearance change, but they do not look 16.
These characters should have been put in their late teens/20s. I feel like you could have still had both of the boys' deaths happen the same way if they were in college/university.
As for Crystal and Niko, I mean they were made 16 because the boys were. Would have been extremely easy to have them be in their 20s.
Also, I haven't seen it being recommended, but also, guys, we can tell YouTube reactors about the show. For the most part, many I've seen don't mind being asked to watch certain shows, so that could also help get the word out. Just be respectful about it.
