this quote feels anti-feminist on paper but in context of the women, it's perfect. it was like being socked in the stomach when i read it. i often feel confined and and manipulated by the narrative projected on me by my family and the world at large. 

my next tattoo = a reverse mermaid. i just need money and an appointment. 

these things happened to me tonight. 1. went out for dinner alone before my therapy appointment. they sit me uncomfortably close to a bunch of two tops. 2. consumed 18 pieces of sushi, soup, salad, and a glass of savignon blanc (it was wattery sav blanc so i should be ok not to have the wine weeps when i see my therapist). 3. feelings = eaten. 4. two fifty year old guys are sitting next to me. 5. one goes, “how’s your french girlfriend?” 6. later, the other goes, “i wack off to jennifer lawrence.” 7. sushi restaurant plays “we belong together.” and i am in my happy place 8. later, j. law wacker-offer asks guy one, “so are you in love with her?” guy one responds, “no. no.” shakes head emphatically. 9. waitresses keep staring at me because i’m just sitting here writing this and ate my food at an astonishingly fast pace with no breaks because i am alone with no one or talk to and nothing to do but scroll through instagram and try not to make eye contact with anyone. 10. paying my bill. 10a. got a better look at them when i left and they’re more like sixty. 10b. contemplated pizza on the walk to my therapist’s office but showed some restraint and just got chocolate covered pretzels.
