something something they have both watch the marriage flourish, their children growing up, their family remaining content and happy, as if they themselves were also a part of the family. until things start to fall apart

something something both the flowers and tenna have constantly witnessed toriel and asgore raise their voices at one another as asriel and kris cry and seek comfort by watching the tv. it was only when asgore moved out with the flowers that tenna lost touch with asgore, who left a bitter note to him for neglecting his family to discover the truth even when no one blamed him for whatever happened.

something something the flowers recognized that while asgore had done some damage to the family, they still feel pity for the father who continued to tend to their fragile bodies with gentle hands and open his heart to them about his desires and regrets and longing and hopefulness, that his family are still okay, that things will be okay.

something something if tenna stayed in castle town and the flowers were replanted there, tenna and flowery... are gonna have to process a lot of family trauma together.

sure, it'd still be funny if asgore did genuinely find flowery cringe, but i kind of would have liked it if he also expressed some sort of guilt for not reciprocating the flowers' attempt to give back during the short time that they are finally able to, after twenty years of only being in the receiving end. asgore realizing of his negligence to them could serve as a reminder of the way he drove his own family away, who didn't even blame him for the incident.

let's say he's still angry that the flowers beat the shit out of his own child, but he could also see it in the lens that his children (kris whom he raised and the flowers which he cared for since the wedding) were fighting, because of asgore being too wrapped up in his own head to notice. he once again failed to protect kris, he let this happened (not really, but asgore's self-loathing convinces him otherwise). if only he gave the flowers his attention too, then maybe his children won't have to hurt each other.

if asgore truly loved the flowers as much as the they claim him to be, i would have loved more proof of it from asgore himself, that he will always still love them, human or flower. that they don't have to try to become more than what they are physically capable of being. that just by accompanying him during his worst days was all he needed to keep himself alive. that they were the reason asgore continued to love and have hope for the better of kris, asriel, toriel, and everyone he cherishes.

damn i needed to see this. i made this post cause i need some sort of explanation why there's a distance between the one who claimed he was being so loved and the one can't seem to do the same.

i guess the flowers didn't properly introduced themselves because

they thought asgore loves them so much he'd recognize them in another form (he does love them, he just doesn't know how dark worlds work. he could figure this out during his research, but maybe because the flowers are special cases of lightner/darkner fusion or have human features, they aren't as obvious as your typical darkners. but wouldnt their colors be a dead give away lol??? or mayhaps asgore was researching about another dark world and was too engrossed on that)

there's some sort of insecurity within all of them of admitting they are beings of 'helplessness' who can't give back until now
