Devoted to Destruction: Lucy x Reader (A BoP one shot)
The Tower stood tall several paces from you, a figure most imposing from this distance. You felt your skin prickle at the prospect of moving any closer, knowing with certainty that this situation didn't paint you in the best light, but you were simply out of ideas. The Tower was so distinguished despite their overall eccentric nature, making them seem so close yet so painfully far.
You didn't move from your place in the tree, trying to justify your actions by claiming you hadn't meant to follow The Tower all the way out here. Their long, dark hair simply caught your attention and you felt compelled to go after them, despite climbing the first tree that would completely conceal you as to not be seen.
The Tower moved a few paces away once more, compelling you to climb down from your tree and continue to follow him.
You paused in the middle of the path, looking left and right with furrowed brows. She had just been here. Where could she have gone in such a short time?
Your question was quickly answered when you were suddenly tackled to the ground, landing flat on your back as a presence loomed over you. The eyes you had squeezed shut upon the fall opened slowly to see The Tower, or rather Lucy as you had heard him be called, on top of you with a smile so bright that it was almost blinding.
"Hi," she said, a teasing lilt in her tone.
You froze in an instant, turning your head to the side as you tried to calm your hammering pulse, "Hello..."
"You were following me," he stated matter-of-factly, his smile never wavering.
"I didn't mean to," you replied quietly. It felt bad, lying to the face of the person you deeply admired.
Lucy laughed, grin becoming more tempting by the second, "No, you did. No need to lie about it. And I even know why~!"
She moved off of you in a snap, offering a hand. You hesitated to take it, but did so nonetheless, marveling at the warmth and steadiness before you were hauled up quickly, right into the chest of the bizarre tarot fairy. A strong arm snaked around your waist, causing you to tense in her arms.
"Lucy..." you murmured, shifting slightly in his grip.
"You followed me all the way out here," she said, pulling away completely to stand behind you, her hands resting on your shoulders. She was taller than you, by a mildly impressive margin. Between yourself and no one in particular, it was something you liked quite a bit. "Was there not something you were after?"
A chill ran down your spine as his hands traced down your arms slowly. His voice was low in your ear as he asked, "Well? Cat got your tongue?"
"I'm sorry. It won't happen again. I shouldn't have...shouldn't have followed you out here." Your throat, completely arid, threatened to close with the sheer embarrassment that you felt from the encounter, trying hard to ignore the warmth pooling in your stomach as you continued to feel Lucy's warm breath against your ear. Your body wanted desperately to lean into her, the admiration warping into something very different in real time.
"You don't sound sure," Lucy commented with amusement. "But I'm sure that it absolutely will happen again. Three days from now. I hope you'll be less jumpy. I guess we'll just have to see~"
Body trembling, you pulled away completely and left the area as fast as you could, wishing the embarrassment and shame wouldn't follow you the way the tantalizing laugh of The Tower did.
(Wow, I have not written an x reader in a long time and I feel like it shows! I'm sorry if this was kind of sloppy, it was mostly just me projecting and harnessing the thirstiness of everyone in the live stream to make something I thought would be good. Don't worry, this is the first of many and I promise to improve! I hope Lucy's character is accurate too and I hope you enjoy it despite how short it is lol)
