„Mmmmmh“, comes a grumbly sound of Rubedo stumbling into the ever chaotic lab. One step, two steps, and then they're sitting next to Sucrose tending to.. something. Checking over her notes? They're not sure, and they don't really care to check right now. It's been a long several days of no sleep and taking care of different 'churls to „attack“ the city. So they're going to sleep now. Right here. Comfortable next to her, their head resting against her shoulder.

„Goodnight.“

ONE BLINK, TWO BLINKS. All Sucrose does is stare blankly at her notebook and the shaky line uniting the last word she wrote to the growing ink stain a few centimetres away. She didn't even hear the door opening, that's how concentrated she was on jotting down her observations on her latest experiment. Which is saying something when even the smallest of noises would normally snap her out of her thoughts, much to her chagrin. So, to realize that she hasn't even noticed her lab being entered... Regardless of any of that, she now has an entire homunculus using her as a pillow, going to sleep within seconds of sitting down and greeting her. Alright then. She can't exactly wake them up again in good conscience so...

❝ It's barely noon, though...? ❞ is all she manages to utter once some of the confusion wears off. Though, if she were to guess with the recent happenings, she does have an inkling of an idea as to why Rubedo is beyond exhausted. Poor thing must have been running on fumes at this point after pulling every stop in order to help with Albedo's plan, and only now managed to catch their breath. It's no wonder they just passed out the moment they made themselves comfortable next to her, something that still catches her off-guard even now, to be honest. They trust her so, so much.

“How long has it been since you’ve slept?”

She winced the moment the words left her mouth, clearly not meaning to blurt them out upon seeing the Lightkeeper. There was a small attempt to rectify the situation but that just left her more flustered. Hopefully he understood that it was well-intentioned… (for Flins :>)

SURPRISE PINCHES EYEBROWS UPWARDS AT HER REMARK BRIEFLY. Fellow Lightkeepers must have gotten used to his ghostly visage by now, besides their own exhaustion creating similar deep marks on their own faces, and thus haven't really questioned him about his sleeping habits. Of course, aside from one young Captain who'd rather worry himself sick about others first, and then maybe take five minutes to account for how he fares. But he digresses.

To be seen even by people who hadn't gathered around to save Nod-Krai ( and Teyvat ) is... Heartwarming, really. So much more different than when he spent centuries on his lonely island up north, only visiting human settlements when needed. It's truly unfortunate that it's taken such a heavy, barely avoided catastrophe for any of this to happen, though.
