If you did than “Meditation 🧘♀️is my new Medication 💊challenge “ is right for you. Don’t delay another day 🚨 do this NOW. It’s free and it only takes 12 minutes. You are worth it. I just recently did this in a group setting with good friends and new friends and it was magically. Try it alone or in a group. This is what I am doing everyday in my own and in a group. My Friday evening will be doing this meditation challenge in a group followed by heavenly food prepared by each of us. This meditation is explained in In my book Reverse the signs of ageing 🇬🇧 and younger skin starts in the gut 🇺🇸 It’s called Kirtan Kriya (which is pronounced KEER-tun KREE-a) is a type of meditation from the Kundalini yoga tradition, which has been practiced for thousands of years. Practicing this for just 12 minutes a day has been shown to reduce stress levels and increase activity in areas of the brain that are central to memory. Repeat the Saa Taa Naa Maa mantra while sitting with your eyes are closed. With each syllable, imagine the sound flowing in through the top of your head and out the middle of your forehead (your third eye point). For two minutes, sing in your normal voice. For the next two minutes, sing in a whisper. For the next four minutes, say the sound silently to yourself. Then reverse the order, whispering for two minutes, and then out loud for two minutes, for a total of twelve minutes. To come out of the exercise, inhale very deeply, stretch your hands above your head, and then bring them down slowly in a sweeping motion as you exhale. Hello my lovely Instagram followers. First off I want to say THANK YOU 🙏🏼, as I don’t think I’ve thanked you all enough for following me and my work. Thank you for your amazing questions that you ask and how all of you are so keen to take care of your health. ✅ Never has there been a time in my life where NOW people are so focused on taking care of themselves which then translates to so many aspects into their life. The one thing I find is that when patients see me for whatever chronic condition they have whether it be : digestive issues, fatigue, poor sleep, inability to lose weight, infertility, premature ageing and hormone imbalances to name a few, once they start acting to make change in their diet, lifestyle and supplement intake from the Dr. Nigma plan, things change for the better in their life. ⭐️Mind Body Connection and sleep!⭐️ Did you know you have a hundred million neurotransmitters that line the length of the gut? It’s approximately the same number that is found in the brain... 💡Nerd alert 🚨 So if we add the nerve cells of the esophagus, stomach and large intestine, there are more nerve cells in the gut than there are in the entire remainder of the peripheral nervous system. 💡Nearly every chemical that controls the brain has been identified in the gut, including hormones and neurotransmitters. Taking care of your body is crucial for optimal brain function. AND....🤓 How does what happens in you gut affect your brain 🧠? I see patients who have trouble sleeping because of their diet and lifestyle and report they have gut issues too. 💡Our two brains the GUT and the brain 🧠 are so much alike that during our sleeping hours, both have natural 90-minute cycles. For the brain 🧠 , this slow wave sleep is interrupted by periods of rapid eye movement sleep in which dreams occur. For the GUT, the 90-minute cycles also involve slow waves 🌊 of muscle contractions but, as with REM intervals, these are punctuated by short bursts of rapid muscle movement. Could it be that both brains influence each other? The answer is probably YES. REM sleep is a sleep phase characterized by arousal, altered activity of the autonomic nervous system and altered colon (large intestine) function. 💤 My patients who have bowel problems tend to have abnormal REM sleep. Poor sleep has been reported by many perhaps a majority of, patients with irritable bowel syndrome (lBS) and non-ulcerative dyspepsia (also known as "sour stomach") who complain of awakening tired and unrefreshed in the morning. Even after patients awake from what they describe as a "sound sleep," they report a general feeling of tiredness and fatigue.Abnormal REM sleep is reduced by low-dose treatment with the anti-depressant amitryptiline, which has also been shown to be effective in treating lBS and non-ulcerative dyspepsia. Many drugs designed to affect the brain also affect the gut. The gut is loaded with the neurotransmitter, serotonin. Autopsies often reveal colons that are plugged up to 80 percent with waste material. 🤔 💡Trillions of bacteria inhabit our bodies as you all know In our digestive tract we have more bacteria than cells in our bodies. #guthealth #deathbeginsinthegut 💡There is the GOOD , BAD and UGLY bacteria 💡Normally we can maintain a symbiotic relationship with the host but poor diet, lifestyle and some medications such as antibiotics can dramatically diminish the levels of 'friendly' bacteria we have in our digestive tract and the result can be pathogenic and is quite likely to cause leaky gut. 💡 The term dysbiosis was originally introduced in the early 1900s by Dr Eli Metchnikoff to describe an imbalance of the bacteria in the gut. Literally it means 'dys' incorrect and 'biosis' life. The word comes from 'symbiosis' meaning to reside together harmoniously with the 'dys' meaning the opposite. The GUT is getting more attention in the past years ....FINALLY! ❤️ I’ve been lecturing about the gut for about 18 years now teaching doctors and patients about the importance of GUT HEALTH! We must mind the gut before we do anything. Any chronic health issue(s) my patients have ever had... I will always assess the gut first and then everything corrects once the gut corrects. Our gut and brain are the same? 💡 Did you know that our gut and our brain originate early in embryogenesis from the same clump of tissue which divides during fetal development? ⭐️Later the two nervous systems connect via a cable called the vagus nerve -- the longest of all the cranial nerves whose name is derived from Latin, meaning "wandering." The vagus nerve meanders from the brain stem through the neck and finally ends up in the abdomen. There's the brain-gut connection. 💡Have you ever wondered why an impending job interview can cause an attack of intestinal cramps? 💡And why do anti-depressants targeted for the brain cause nausea or abdominal upset in millions of people who take such drugs? ⭐️The reason for these common experiences is because each of us literally has two brains -- 🧠 🧠 the familiar one encased in our skulls and a lesser-known but vitally important one found in the human gut. Like Siamese twins, the two brains are interconnected; when one gets upset, the other does, too.
