This past winter 2019, my wife and I became DIYers. My wife and I got tired of looking at our old windows, so we removed the trim, window stops, and sashes and threw them right in our 15 yard dumpster. Then we replaced them in the heart of the winter weather and totally spruced up our house. Oh and we also got rid of the drafts. And like that, we joined the DIY community!

My wife and I decided to remove the old carpet and show case the hardwood floor underneath but there was a 4x4 section of subfloor in the middle of the hardwood. The remaining hardwood was warped from years of improper care and a few dogs. We moved in with 2 dogs but clearly we didn’t do all that damage. At this point we wanted to know, how to clean the pet smell from the floor before laying the carpet. So after tearing out the carpet, the carpet foam, rusty nails, staples, and cleaning the floor. We ran a humidifier for 3 days straight. We ran an air purifier for 3 days and we left the windows open for 7. Then we installed the beautiful carpet you see in the photo with the telescope.
