“I mean I could but the question is do I really want to?”

“My last week of school and I have one B that is an 89. Do it for my peace of mind.” 

“No, no, it’s not… I just didn’t want to invite myself, y’know?,” he explained with a sincere smile. “And well, if I’m not being a bother, I’ll definitely prefer your home over the floor.”

“You aren’t, I promise.” James gave a friendly smile, opening the door to his place and letting Teddy in before going in himself. “It’s a bit messy,” James said, though his apartment was spotless as per usual, with just a few things out of place. “Did you eat dinner yet?” 

“I suppose that’s one way to put it" he laughed. “I am sure I can handle this without killing myself.” 

“Too much alcohol does more to you than you think, mate.”

“What limit? I don’t really care about limits.” 

“I’m sorry, did you say you wanted alcohol poisoning?” 

“Oh, I, um… That’s actually not what I’ve intended…,” he muttered, turning his gaze to the ground. “But, y’know, the wifi sounds pretty convincing,” Teddy then joked in a chaffing manner.

“Sorry if that made you uncomfortable. But if you want to, you’re more than welcome.” 

“Exactly. Anyone who says otherwise is lying.”

“Especially for our age. Does anyone get more than 5 hours of sleep?” 

Taking a deep breath, Fiona laid across the island, her hand propping her head up while she kept her eyes on the plate. “You know, I’m very affectionate, it’s literally how I communicate, but the fact that I’m not afraid to be sexual kind is the deal breaker, it tends to make the people I’m with uncomfortable, so I don’t do it, I bring it from a 10 to a 2, you feel me?” She took a deep breath, “and even though I love love that we’re willing to try this out and all, but if you’re not into either of those things, I’m gonna have to tap out. And I’m saying that because I spent so many years holding myself back and not being what I am so much that I can’t spend anymore of my time doing it anymore,” she explained while rubbing her eyes, “you don’t have to feel pressured into doing anything you don’t want to do, but I’m just tired of feeling uncomfortable because it’s clear that I’m making you uncomfortable, you know?” Fiona ran her fingers through her hair, shaking her head as she sipped her wine, “it’s whatever, nevermind..”

“Of course,” he started, letting her go on without interrupting her as she spoke. “Clear that you’re making me uncomfortable? Fiona... If you were making me uncomfortable you wouldn’t be here right now. I’m the one that asked you to stay, remember?” He asked her with a smile on his face, edging closer to her and putting a hand over her forearm, his other hand setting his wine glass onto the table. “If you’re comfortable with your sexuality, but you have the respect for others to tone it down for them; you’re doing that right. I appreciate you asking about my comfort zone, but that stuff, that doesn’t bother me.” He shook his head. “You know me, you know I tend to be shy. Not uncomfortable, just not as vocal about certain things as you are. If you’re okay with that, great. But if you prefer someone who isn’t, I won’t take offense.”
