doctor's orders

‘‘it would be a mouthful for people of this era,’‘ he commented with a smirk, nodding when the other said what his original name was. ‘‘what brought you here Florian?’‘ Zachary slightly rolled his neck before ending up with a normal posture, already looking as relaxed as a man could be. ‘’are you between two shifts?’’ the dinner was close to the hospital, and judging by the other male’s reputation he assumed that’s where he was spending most of his time… but he could be wrong.

“technically yes and no.” his exact position and job involved a lot of crossing lines that he struggled to explain. “i work for the hospital on the more serious surgeries and act as a consultant for wider issues but that’s more part-time. mortals these days love plastic surgery so that’s what i do on the side and my primary source of income. then i have a part in owning several free clinics.” he often struggled in explaining himself, he wasn’t the best at speaking to other people. “oh yeah, you had a question. no. i’m taking off for the next few day-” florian was interrupted by the barista bringing his order, he nodded with gratitude and gave an above average tip. “ i don’t get out too much so this place is pretty new to me.”

‘‘Is narcolepsy a bad thing?’‘ Smiling to himself, he most definitely didn’t have any health issues. ‘‘I was just relaxing, the ambiance here is nearly perfect,’‘ tapping his left ear gently with his index finger, zachary looked up at the other male before pointing the booth across from his own. paying attention to his surrounding was almost melodius to the young man. ‘‘I’m terrible at guessing from borrowed faces, as lovely as yours might be,’‘ he added, slightly scrunching up his nose. ‘’Please join me,’’

“Depends. A lot of people love having the ability to just fall asleep anywhere, especially when relaxed.” The vibe in the restaurant was relaxed, which is far out of his usual comfort zone. While most people relaxed in quiet environments, florian was exactly the opposite because of his brain being hard-wired to constantly be moving in all directions.  He got the hint that he was invited to sit down and moved to the opposite end of the booth. “Thank you for not giving me some weird look, a lot of people aren’t as welcome to someone who walks up to them without knowing who they are.” Florian rested his arms on the table and leaned slightly so the other could hear him. “right now, i go by florian. i think you know me under a different name. asclepius.” There were times when someone would ask his name and he give his greek-given name as a joke knowing 99% of the world would laugh or be super confused. 

‘‘I’m not falling asleep, I’m resting my eyes,’‘ he mocked himself, eyes closed. opening them to look at the other male, he couldn’t help to smile up at him. ‘‘coffee is delicious. a little bit strong, but nothing that could hurt you,’‘ looking at him from head to toes, he felt somewhat familiar. ‘‘do I know you?’‘ dark orbs almost scanning the other male’s facial features, realizing that is intuition might’ve been skin deep.

“As a doctor, someone falling asleep is either a very good or very bad thing. guess I just assume the worst.” that all confirmed he was falling asleep but all signs pointed to there being nothing wrong. “i rely on pure energy. there isn’t always coffee the places i travel. most of the time it’s water and my own prayers.” he took a mental note on the coffee, his mind being made-up on what he was getting. “that depends. i’ve been around for a long time and if we go back, it’ll be waay back.” that was his way of hinting at his godly origins, the right people would get him. florian pulled out his phone, choosing to order the coffee and sandwhich from the app. he looked down at the man from his device, “and just so you know, i went with the colombian.”

hypnos was used to keeping himself busy at all times. so waiting for them at the small dinner down the street from the apartment complex where a few of them lived, he couldn’t help but feel sleepy. it’s like he always needed some kind of entertainment, if not physically then visually… his eyelids felt heavy as he sat back, a cup of columbian coffee set next to the slice of blueberry pie he ordered when they texted him they were going to be late. his biggest mistake was putting his phone down.   @ihq-start​

florian struggled with decisions outside of the medical field, always wanting to make the ‘best’ decision. he’d been to this place a bunch of times, but he was in the mood for coffee for whatever reason. two coffees were on his mind, the coloumbian and the strawberry-vanilla. that’s when he spotted a man with the coloumbian coffee, and immediately walked over to him. “quick question. just how good is that coffee. i’m torn betwe-” it appeared that the other had been falling asleep. “yeah, i guess you really need that right now. you’re falling asleep it seems.”
