We’ll slip away

and with every word I say, nothing will ever be the same.

I only ever wanted you to stay, but you were never able to change.

That's what left me with such a hollow space.

Knowing I loved you so much to the point of my own decay

It's why I now view love in such a fearful way

I tried loving you past all the pain but it just left myself so drained.

Everyday I wanted us to be okay but it took so much to see, you would never love me the same.

And I feel that pain everyday, knowing ill always have the shame

of thinking I wasn't enough for you to change.

Still to this day

I continue to hurt in the ways thinking everyone will treat me the same

it's the only reason I push people away and I feel as if I only have you to blame.

Never did I deserve to be left thinking this way.

But the day I let someone finally stay,

I hope they'll decide to love me past the pain,
