the responsibility to initiate difficult and uncomfortable conversations after an argument/miscommunication/misunderstanding should not repeatedly have to fall on one person in the dynamic.

people that genuinely love and care about you and want you in their life will want to provide clarity and talk/work things out with you, even if they aren’t inherently confrontational people or the best communicators. and even if they don’t, at the very least, they will have enough respect, consideration and emotional maturity to be honest with you about not wanting to pursue the connection further.

if the one time you choose not to be the initiator for repair because it genuinely wasn’t on you to do so and this results in a permanent fallout, that tells you everything you need to know about how that person truly felt about you.
