Miranda The Series 9/11/2009 - 1/1/2015

And I am SO HAPPY. That is how you end a show.

It wasn’t even the Miranda/Gary moments that were the best (though they were definitely wonderful, and I’m thrilled that they got their happy ending). Bringing everyone back; great montages of past moments; Miranda/Stevie brotp BFF-ness; their favorite customer; Heather Small and Gary Barlow’s cameos; Miranda’s farewell at the end. It was all so perfect. And I’m just so proud of Miranda for finally calling Penny out, and I’m proud of her for accepting herself and growing up. Her speech about women like her being sexy even if the world won’t affirm it was just glorious. 

Also, can I say how important it is to have artists like Miranda Hart in the media? This character she created has always been so real. She’s wacky, true to herself, and unapologetically honest about life’s awkward and human moments. She tells it like it is, destroys every thought that any person is exempt from flaws or embarrassing situations. Everything Miranda’s done with this show has been about learning to laugh at ourselves and love ourselves, and that’s beautiful. She is beautiful.

I’m sad to see this show end, but this only means that Miranda can work on new things (and as a US viewer, I have to point out how awesome it would be for her to bring her talents over to this side of the pond). Thank you, Miss Hart, for bringing us joy and laughter with this delightful little show. I look forward to whatever adventure you bring us next.
