A/N: This is kind of late!! I originally got this idea from @tbholland‘s boxer!tom day, but I decided to lay it off and such but it kept on popping up in my mind so I decided to just write it.

When you walk in the ring there are people hooting and hollering, whistling and just flat out booing you.

“What the heck is a girl doing here?”

“She’s going to get her butt whooped.”

Glares are given to all the people closest to you, but they always continue which leaves you really uncomfortable.

Once you walk in the ring, Tom is just standing there, looking you over like he does with all his opponents – trying to find their weakness.

All settled, you guys slap hands and wish each other ‘good luck’ like every normal match.

“Good luck.”

“You too.”

Going into your corners, still staring at each other to figure the other one out but the crowd takes it the wrong way.

They’re hooting and hollering to the two of you since they think there is a connection.

“Oo, love on the battlefield.”

“It’s a boxing ring, stupid.”

Both of you get in your ready stance, ignoring those comments and already figuring out what your first moves are going to be.

Once the round starts, Tom goes in full force and aims for your face but you quickly dodge, soon being hit in the stomach with a powerful punch.

He ends up smirking which gives you an opportunity, which you take.

You make a comeback, hitting him with an uppercut which makes the crowd gasp and cheer at the same time.

“Nobody was expecting that.”

“Wow.”

Continuing to jab at each other, the round ends after two minutes and the both of you barely break a sweat.

“This is going to be a long night folks.”

The rounds go on forever since the two of you have each other planned out.

Both of you know what move you’re going to do even when you haven’t even processed it yourself.

“What are they doing?”

“Figuring each other out.”

“Why?”

“Because that’s what a good boxer does.”

After eight rounds of continuous boxing, Tom uses your moment of ‘weakness’ and ends up using his rare combo move on you, pinning you down on the boxing ring.

In the end, you let him win because you didn’t want the hate and the petty excuses of the crowd.

After the countdown, Tom helps you and both of you congratulate each other.

“Nice moves back there.”

“Thanks. And nice victory.”

Both of you go to your locker rooms, changing and soon bumping into each other as you leave, a smile on both of your faces.

“Thanks.”

“For what?”

“Treating my like any other opponent.”

He ends up complimenting you saying you were great in the ring and you compliment him.

“That uppercut really caught me off guard.”

“And that distraction really paid off.” 

You guys talked and complimented each other until you got to your cars.

But before he left, he ended up pinpointing your ‘mistake’ by giving you a helpful tip.

“When someone pulls the move I just pulled on you, just pull your arms close to your face and jab them in gut.”

Already knowing that, you nod slowly and look down.

He ends up noticing your face, which causes him to grow a little bit suspicious.

“If you knew what to do, then why didn’t you do it?”
