Asking for money is something I never thought I’d find myself doing… and I’m sure most people would find themselves agreeing to that sentiment; it’s a matter of pride. But as things progress, I find myself with very little options. Everyone has had hard ships in their lives, things they desperately need to climb back up from… and this year, I’ve been brutally hit back to back with demons of my own–and shouldering the burden for my friend as well. Honestly, it’s been crippling in the worst ways. From a horrible breakup with my ex-fiancé that left me shattered, to relapsing with depression and joining therapy again, to medication bills adding up due to my psoriasis and plantar fasciitis– it was all beginning to become too much.. and the final nail in the coffin? I lost my job this month.
The reason? I called in sick. Due to a very strict attendance policy – No doctors notes accepted, ever – I was hit with a point system that took me from being nowhere near being in trouble– straight to termination. Because it was a monday and the call was 10 minutes late, I lost a job I’ve had for years and loved. I went to work, expecting to work with the elderly as I always have, only to be told they had to let me go because I was 10 minutes late calling off due to puking my guts out.
I was shocked and numb as I signed that paperwork. I was told to hand in my badge and my keys. I walked out that door and I started sobbing. It’s only been two weeks since then. I’ve put in job applications, I have hopes on the horizon with getting my life together– but the fear and stress is there as well. Because rent is fast approaching too. Electric, gas, bills upon bills.. and my ex ( who still lives with me) is moving out on the first.
Meaning, the bills are now all mine. No one can help me cover it and I’m scared I’ll lose this next.
But none of this compares to what my bestfriend and once roommate is going through. Abuse, in the hands of her own home by her mother. Verbal and mental, words that leave her breaking down on the floor as she calls me. She has no job, no income, is hard of hearing– and struggling day to day just to cope. Before I lost everything, I was planning on saving up the money to have her come stay with me and help her back on her feet. But now, I can barely keep my own roof over my head. Despite this… I still desperately want to help her as well as myself. She lives all the way in Michigan, has little to no belongings, and is a great person with a heart of gold. I don’t want to see her suffer anymore, even with my own shortcomings.
So … here I am. Asking that please, if anyone can help… even just 5 dollars– to help me save up enough money to bring her here while I search for a job, to help us get our lives together, even the littlest amount would be more than enough– to consider it. Please.

If you could signal boost this, I would appreciate it, it’s for a close friend of mine.
