mike stepped away so his back would hit the brick wall. the shady alleyway made it hard to make sense of what misha looked like in the dark. he felt so stupid. how could he had let this happen? how could he let her get in the literal crossfire. mike hadn’t been there to protect her; now she was in trouble. he was in his head—- which was rare. her voice rang through his ears. his head snapped up to look at the other. “do i what?” he paused. scoffing, he shakes his head at his ex. “you’re going through everything you’re going through and you ask if i love her?” mike questioned. “no. no i don’t love her. we’re just dating.”
his complete lack of response leaves her seething, having come with the intent of looking for a fight. searching for anything to distract her from her own pitiful reality. “you don’t get to judge my feelings right now.” and though misha’s voice wavers with their close proximity, her gaze remains still, staring up at him with as much defiance as she can muster. “oh, goody, you’re dating. well, just make sure she doesn’t have any babies because we all know how big of a dealbreaker that is for you!” hands drunkenly smack at his, glaring up at him with equal fire —- and while all she wants to do is cry, all that comes out is a laugh, bitter, hurt, and livid. “why didn’t you call me? you just pretended like i didn’t exist while you were dating and attempting to kill my dad.”
