Potentially unpopular opinion that nobody asked for:
I feel like there's something extremely ignorant, even spiteful, about the rhetoric I've seen shared by a number of popular blogs on here that it's somehow a moral failing to have never had a session. And I get it, if you're a prominent figure within the community then of course you're going to have invested time, effort, and money into reaching that point, but I'm also asking you to consider the privilege of your circumstances that allowed those efforts to bear fruit in situations where others' may not have.
Some of the most common arguments I see parroted are "anybody could have sessions if they attended gatherings and events", or "the opportunities are there, people just don't want to travel", something along those lines, which, again, just demonstrates a flagrant disregard for situations and circumstances outside of their own. What if people reside in areas without an active kink scene, or if they have other priorities and responsibilities that take precedence over kink? What if travelling isn't a possibility due to financial or health issues? If you're in a position to invest hundreds, if not thousands of dollars into a niche kink then good for you, genuinely, but at the opposite end of the spectrum there are people struggling to pay rent each month.
Anyway, apologies for the vent, just find it a little jarring seeing people be so needlessly cruel to those that are in less fortunate circumstances than their own. It's a real "pull yourself up by the bootstraps!" mentality, sometimes even delving in ableist territory, that I absolutely loathe in all honesty
