I lied and said I was busy; but not in a way most people understand. I was busy taking deeper breaths. I was busy silencing irrational thoughts. I was busy calming a racing heart. I was busy telling myself I am OK.

Almost all of our brokenness can be tracked back to the quantity and quality of the love we have experienced.

Some women rush to be in a relationship with dysfunctional men and stick around hoping to prove the people around them wrong and then get upset when years have passed and nothing in life is improving.

Know that you can start late, look different, be uncertain and still succeed.

I used to dislike being sensitive. I thought it made me weak. But take away that single trait, and you take away the very essence of who I am. You take away my conscience, my ability to empathize, my intuition, my creativity, my deep appreciation for the little things, my vivid inner life, my deep awareness of others’ pain, and my passion for it all.

I hate solitude, but I am afraid of intimacy. The substance of my life is a private conversation with myself which to turn into a dialogue would be equivalent to self-destruction.
