Ants are so crazy as animals, imagine fighting behemoths that are dozens or hundreds or millions of times your size and hauling massive cargo with just your jaws and joining your sisters on the battlefield in massive intercolony wars and. What the fuck
I had this pondering of them recently.
So, I was sitting there, thoughts drifting to ants, like why do ants think they’re just taking a stroll on my arm when they’re actually on some massive creature? Do they even notice, or is it like, “Whoa, what was that wind?”
Then my brain decided to wander to their wars. Yeah, ants have wars. Just like us. Because, you know, why not add more chaos to the universe? Wars, huh? What kicks them off? Is it just some ego trip, or is there a political game plan behind it? Do ants just tag along out of loyalty, or are they stuck with no other option? Maybe some folks think it’s all pointless and just shake their heads. Peace would’ve been nice, but here we are, dealing with nonsense.
Then that had me thinking about politics. Monarchy, politics, debates on gender rights—do ants have all that too? Are some ants all about the queen, while others are like, “Nah, her policies suck”? Do they have ant activists fighting for their rights?
And then, naturally, my mind went to religion. Do ants have a church? An ant temple? Maybe they just chill with the universe, like cosmic hippies. Or maybe they gather under the moonlight for tiny ant rituals, circling a crumb like it’s of spiritual importance. Maybe they believe in a bunch of leaf spirits or a single mighty Queen of All Queens, or even think every twig and drop of dew has a soul.
Just some random musings, I guess. You could call it philosophical thinking, I don’t know.

I’m proud to identify as morosexual. I’m attracted to dumbasses and dumbasses exclusively. A guy asked me what the Spanish word for tortilla was once and now I dream of kissing him under the moonlight

In horrid biphobic news, I just got my gorgeous beautiful wonderful book on fabric dyeing with fungi in the middle of fucking February, when all outside is a frozen waste with nary a living plant or mushroom to be seen.
Woe is me. I want to go root around in the woods after mushrooms like a bog witch and see if I can find the ones that make wool go pretty colors.

The gold treasure from the Viking Age found on the Hoen farm in 1875. (Photo: Museum of Cultural History, Oldsakssamlingen)
The Hoen Treasure is the biggest finding of gold jewelry from the Viking Age and one of the most important European collections of jewelry from the 800s. It consists of 20 coins, 50 jewelry of various types and 125 pearls totaling approximately 2.5 kilos of gold.
The treasure was found in 1875 in connection with trenching on the Hoen farm by the Drammenselva river in Buskerud county. The place was strategically located in relation to travel routes in the Viking Age and control of goods between the inner parts of Eastern Norway and the coast.
The gold was probably buried in the marsh between 875 and 900 AD and confirms that Hoen was an important chiefdom with international connections.

Feeder of the Wolf 🐺
Tyr, meaning "king," was a powerful deity in Norse mythology. He was known for his bravery, wisdom, and justice. His most notable attribute was his missing right hand, which was devoured by Fenrir, the ravenous giant wolf sired by Loki, and the jötunn, Angrboda.
Tyr was either the son of Odin, the "All Father" and king of gods, or Hymir, a giant from an obscure section of the Poetic Edda called the Hymiskviða. Most scholars believe that Odin was Tyr's true father. Tyr was a half-sibling to the chief members of the Aesir tribe, including Thor, Baldur, Váli, Vidarr, Heimdall, Hermod, Bragi, and Hodr.
Tyr appeared as a central character in only two myths: the Hymiskvitha and the Kettle of Giants. In the Hymiskvitha, The gods commissioned a durable set of fetters, called Gleipnir, to confine Fenrir for good. Fenrir grew suspicious of the gods' attempts to ensnare him, but agreed to the game after placing an arm in his mouth.
Tyr's fate during Ragnarök was revealed in the Gylfaginning, where he would both slay and be slain by the wolf Garmr. The text also revealed Tyr's fate during the "twilight of the gods."
