Tōko White

Blushes rather bright red. “Y-you were just a bit but its okay! Ah.. Emmet didn’t even think that but you’re right… Ingo is probably going nuts by himself right now. He’s never been good alone despite how it looks.” Coughs into his elbow again to keep his germs to himself. 

"Then I'll take care of you until Ingo arrives! How long does he work?" she asked curiously, the brunette was sure that Ingo would hold it to a minimum so he could get home fast. Everyone knew after all how clumsy Emmet could be sometimes. Especially in taking care of himself.

I work in a small town library and once in a while, kids will come in and talk to be about Pokemon. Being as I’m older, growing up with the original Pokemon games, I guess they admire the fact that an adult can like the games.  Regardless, this girl comes up and hands me a Pokemon book to get checked back in. I asked if she enjoyed it and she said yes and than asked what her favorite Pokemon was.  She told me it was Skitty and than launched into how she had Pokemon Black and had a level 73 Emboar (which, at the time, I was very impressed considering she was about seven years old). She told me how she was working so hard to beat the Elite Four but ended up losing to Shauntal in the end. How she was going to go back and try again.  In the moment, I thought about how innocent it all was to her. How she didn’t know the other generations or how people argue about which is the best. How she didn’t know about how people complain about certain characters who are popular or not. She didn’t know the elitists who bash on certain generations or how they don’t live up to the original.  She just knew Pokemon. To me, that’s what makes the franchise special. That, despite how we old  fans will continue growing, the younger generation will see Pokemon in an innocent light, without all the flame wars about shippings and characters and what generation is the best or what Pokemon are the best or what legendaries are the best.  She enjoys it for what it is.  That’s how it should be. 

"Mind if I stay over for a bit and take care of you until Ingo arrives?" she was worried as well for the younger of the twins after all both of them were important for Tōko. Mentors as well as friends and amazing trainers. All in all Tōko liked the twins a lot.

"I came here without any of my other Pokemon, besides Pikachu! It wouldn’t be the same kind of challenge if I used all the Pokemon I’ve already trained!" Ash explained, agreeing with Touko. Moving to the stand, he reached for the spheres, releasing each Pokemon after the other.

A small orange and black pig appeared, sporting a red orb at the end of its curly tail. “That’s the fire type Pokemon, Tepig!”

A second opened to show off a small lizard with a disinterested gaze, sporting three leaves at the tip of its tail. “And that’s the grass type, Snivy!”

Finally, the third showed itself to be a small mammal with a clown-like face, sporting a scallop attached to its torso. “And the water type, Oshawott!”

"This is a tough one…" Ash spoke aloud, looking between the three Pokemon. They all looked great! Nothing like any Pokemon he’d seen, and each of them were cute in their own way. But which would make the best companion…

As the Oshawott came out she couldn't help herself but hug the little water type, it reminded her too much of her own partner. The others feeling left out soon came to her as well and she hugged all of them. They were just so adorable!

Soon enough Ash decided on the one companion he wanted to take along and Tōko put them all down. She nudged the little water pokemon and it looked up to the brunette who had been taking care of them a few times when the professor went out. Encouraged by her he walked over to Ash and stood proudly in front of him. Soon enough a water attack hit the young champion in the face thought and Tōko laughed nervously.

"That was very brave of you Emmet. Good job."

"Oh…" That was the only sound able to find its way out of her mouth. Faitsu wished that Tōko had found him, even a mere trace of him. Her heart dropped after her words. The last thing she wanted was for something to have happened to N. She desperately hoped that he was alive and…well. The former king of Plasma hadn’t been clear with how he coped with finding out how he was just a mere pawn to his father. He left with a smile, but she knew differently. Behind his eyes was pain.

"Tōko, please don’t cry…" Faitsu hesitantly reached a hand out to the other’s shoulder, but quickly retracted it, thinking herself unworthy to do so. "He’ll return someday…that’s why I promised to wait for him. If…when that day comes, I’ll be sure that he comes to find you." She didn’t doubt N’s words, never did. Tōko deserved not to worry, to cry.

Of course she tried to hide it when she was sad because the brunette never wanted anyone to worry about her. But as it was emotions couldn't be kept bottled up forever. They would and will burst out at one point in time. 

Every time she wiped her tears away new one's followed. If she was honest with herself Tōko didn't know of a time that she had cried this much. Really - she was a cheerful person who never seemed to be bothered by much. Of course there were times when she was sad but not like this. As Faitsu said something her blue eyes which were still filled with tears concentrated on the young girl in front of her. 

Ghetsis. That one name Tōko loathed to hear. The man wasn't cruel. He was beyond that. Using his own child like that and then saying those words to him. She remembered all to well how broken N had looked after his father said those words of him being a freak. A tool to accomplish his ambitions of ruling Unova.
