any time i talk to my mom - and recently my MIL - they have been finding ways to fit into the conversation baby talk. like, "when are you guys going to have kids?" "you know in that one bill they passed that families with children can get money!!!" and my mom has been extremely transphobic for no reason. it makes me so uncomfortable. i was talking to her about some health stuff and my insurance (because i have none - why in the WORLD would i be having a child right now?????) and she goes on to talking about chromosomes. and how many genders are there, REALLY? i asked her what in the fuck does that have to do with my insurance. i'm trying to figure out how i can afford to see my neurologist. nobody in my household is thinking about having children and if we did it doesn't MATTER to me if they are trans. i've struggled with my relationship with my parents over what seems like my entire life. i'm coming to terms with the fact that i was raised by people that are completely self serving and lack empathy for anyone that doesn't treat them like gods or otherwise participate in their masturbatory and sadistic practices. having children is a decision that one cannot and should not make lightly - you're bringing life into this world. the village you make for that life needs to be curated with the most care. i gotta work on this
