âĽ: describe a verbal way they would express complete trust.
there are a lot of ways seulgi expresses her trust, however, sheâd be only expressing complete trust when talking about her past. she doesnât like to talk about her time as a thief nor she likes to talk about what lead her to such a life. when asked about her parents, seulgi only says sheâs an orphan. anyone that she feels comfortable sharing her past holds her whole trust.Â
â: explain how they portray feelings of hostility or dislike.
seulgi is quite honest when it comes to things like that. sheâs likely to be verbal about her dislike, pointing to oneâs face and saying out loud âi donât like you!â. her face will be contorted in an unhappy expression and she can try to tease the person she dislikes in a very mature way of course. however, real and pure hostility would turn her quiet  and sarcastic. again, she wonât have any problems making clear that the person isnât welcomed by her.
⯠⼠â
âŻ: do they believe for every darkness there is a lightness? if not, why?
already answered here.
âĽ: name one thing about the way their emotions work that they despise.
despise is a strong word but sometimes seulgi dislikes the way sheâs so transparent. her emotions are very hard to hide and it can be very⌠uncomfortable to have everyone guessing what sheâs feeling almost immediately. and also, sometimes seulgi just hates crying so much. she is a cry baby and cries when sheâs happy or sad or frustrated or literally feeling anything intensely.Â
â: do they tend to rely on words or actions more?
she has a tendency to rely more in actions. she takes other peopleâs words very seriously, however, their words and questions must be consistent. if one does something that is too different from what they say, seulgi will most likely be: 1. confused 2. mad 3. think the person is a hypocrite.Â
âŻ
âŻ: do they believe for every darkness there is a lightness? if not, why?
yes, definitely. seulgi believes in balance. there are both within every being and one decides whether theyâll lean towards lightness or darkness.even the people she despises the most, even the ones who seem to be cruel beyond comparison, have a bit of light even if itâs suffocated by all the darkness.Â
âĄ, â, â and ξМС.
âĄ: is there a certain scent that brings about nostalgia? if so, describe a memory this scent brings back.
already answered here.Â
â: what is something that causes them to question themself?
usually, itâs yseraâs indisposition and both hers and her dragonâs unwillingness to hurt other people even for the greater good. it makes seulgi wonder if sheâs fit for a dragon rider - if thatâs really her fate.Â
â: what is their typical response to being given orders?
her response is typically positive. she doesnât have an authority problem, however, when the orders are made in a very rude manner, she can reply with lack of will and funny faces. if the orders come from someone of the same rank as hers or under her, seulgi usually prefers to think about it as a request and not an order. again, if the person is rude, she will probably refuse to follow what they say and point that theyâre being very rude and this is not nice.Â
ξМС :What about nature do they find calming? What about nature do they find disagreeable?
about anything. seulgi loves being outdoors and all the little things - the vegetation, the chilly breeze of the plateaus and the sun rays kissing her cheeks - makes her calmer. what she thinks itâs disagreeable are usually minor things such as the way that the mud itches when it dries on your face or the slippery roots in the woods or the snow melting and soaking her boots.Â

⥠: Is there a certain scent that brings about nostalgia? If so, describe a memory this scent brings back.
, grass and fresh cut wood.
there are two memories that come with that scent and they are from very different times of her life.Â
i. in the first one she has grass turning around her small finger and a smile on her face. she is very young, ten or eleven as she walks towards the medium-sized house. the skirt of her pretty dress is stained by mud but seulgi doesnât notice it - though the governess does, muttering something about how itâs impossible to shape her into a lady. incorrigible, incorrigible the middle aged woman complains just to scream for the girl to take off her boots. she does so and is received by her father whose arms held a pile of fresh wood. her mother always tells that he shouldnât do it - that itâs not a job for a man like him - but her father says itâs a nice exercise. and then he fixes the fire and welcomes his daughter to his lap while she still plays with the plant on her hands.Â
ii. she is older now. grown up. and alone. her father is nowhere to be seen. seulgi just stole an axe to cut some firewood for herself and is doing so in one of her refuges in the woods. she quickly finishes up her job and hides the wood just to hurry back to the house she stole the axe from. fortunately, none of its owners realized it was gone and the teenager smiles. she goes back to her little hideout, smiling at the creeping fire and the breeze on her face. even though sheâs alone and hungry and possibly uncomfortable, she tastes freedom.Â
rise and shine ,
( drcsoojung )Â
morning sleepiness is replaced by a mischievous grin. seulgi woke up way too early and while her night was restless, she doesnât feel as tired as she should. of course, her muscles were still tense and her mouth is dry as if she tried to swallow a mop. the dragon rider already tidied her room, every little detail perfect and nothing out of place. she tried studying a bit, but it seems to be harder to study alone and when the light of the day didnât shine yet. besides, it feels dull when compared to jinkiâs lessons. so now she sits on her bed, mind curling around ideas of what to do, when a look to her wall makes something light in her brain.Â
soojung was one of the first people she knew when she first joined the battalion. seulgi rejoiced in the fact that the other rider is a female as well, seeing how the majority of the riders seems to be male. the other also helps her with the bow and arrow which, although is a favorite of seulgiâs, doesnât favor her a whole lot. she is competent, just above average at it - thanks to soojungâs guidance. sometimes she wishes she knew bow and arrow when she was a thief. well, not to hurt anyone with it, god forbid - no, it just feels like itâd be useful to have a long range weapon. seulgi is strong and sheâs been strong for a long time, however, her frame is small and that can be a disadvantage when facing someone way taller than her. well, good thing now she has a dragon to guard her back.Â
she chuckles, making her way outside of the bedroom in the most silent way she can. another curiosity of what enticed the friendship between the two females is that their bedrooms are in front of each other. seulgi opens her door and finds soojungâs door - and sometimes even soojung, seeing how they usually rise at the same time. itâs still a bit too early, but seulgi doesnât mind. itâs a childish prank, waking up her friend before the hour is right and she knows it - and it makes everything even better. because even though seulgi is one and twenty, she is still a child at heart.Â
the door of the other dragon rider creaks and seulgi bites on her bottom lip, closing it behind her. with a deep breath, seulgi quickly walks to soojungâs bed, literally laying on top of the other. âgood morning!!!â she says in a tone way too loud and too excited to be used so early in the morning. âwake up, wake up!â seulgi chuckles and drops her head on soojungâs shoulder. âi woke up too early and now i condemn you to this fate as wellâ
open.
âWho stands just behind me?â Itâs the first full sentence heâs spoken today, his voice husky and softâ but it carries clear with the wind, a suspicious note ringing within it. Up above in the cloudcover, Viserith descends just enough to see his familiar, winging down slowly in lazy circles.
she is no apprentice no longer. sure it means she carries more responsibility, and consequently, it makes her nervous from time to time. because now her mistakes could be greater and their prices bigger - and her punishment crueler. however, despite her new responsibilities and burdens, being a full dragon rider also came with a bit more of freedom. instead of engaging rough training early in the morning, seulgi decides to take a walk in the cold breeze. she is cold to the bones when she leaves the castle but after a few meters, the exercise makes her blood run warmer and her cheeks are tinted pink by the exercise.Â
the female doesnât want to take for granted the opportunity fate offered to her. seulgi loves ysera more than she loves herself - or anything at all that she can think of - and she does love being a dragon rider. itâs also great to know that sheâll have a roof under her head when it rains and when the snow falls and to know that she will have food and warmth. nevertheless, the rider misses being outdoors. she misses smelling the grass and the sea and the moss glued to the rocks on her ways. she even misses the dead leaves on her hair and the scratches from the trees on her palms. so whenever seulgi feels nostalgic, she compliments the nature early in the morning, smiling contentedly while her boots crushes the land beneath her soles.Â
her legs stop, however, when seulgiâs eyes meet a figure sitting where sheâs used to rest. her lips open in a surprised and confused âoâ and she is about to turn around when sheâs spoken to. the face of the man is familiar and when the dragon comes closer, seulgi understands why. well - itâs somewhat near the castle so one should think another dragon rider would be around, too. the female is unsure and takes a second or two to reply, fingers turning around each other and cautious steps taking her forward.Â
âitâs.. uh... a fellow dragon riderâ she tries and smiles softly, coming closer and smiling at the view. âsorry, i didnât mean to sneak on you or anythingâ seulgi sighs. âi really love this placeâÂ
prized
Its up to Seulgi to inform the more experienced rider of his mistake, as Hakyeon continues on without notice in his training.
the wind is whistling so loud while she cuts the air that seulgi doubts she can hear anything else. the adrenaline makes her heart jump fast in her chest and the mild notion of danger gives her the sensation of ice pooling on her stomach. itâs one of these days that ysera is being cooperative. it just took a female human attached to her neck, peppering her rough scales with kisses, for the dragon to get up in all her sleepy pride. sometimes, she wonders if ysera does so just to make seulgi feel very thankful. in fact, seulgi gets so happy when ysera is willing to train that hardly something can make her lips curl downwards. especially now that they could fly.Â
training with hakyeon is interesting. his dragon and him are very different from seulgi and ysera. while they have a quicker and long-range attack, seulgi and the emerald dragon work more with yseraâs large size and a close-range attack. they compliment each other well and seulgi is very happy to see ysera working together with another dragon - and most importantly, she enjoys it. it sends a wave of affection through the rider and sheâs glad theyâre telepathically bonded so it makes easier for seulgi to control the urge to hug  ysera. she can feel her dragon excited in her mind but also a kind reminder to pay attention to what theyâre doing. the girl scoffs but takes yseraâs advice.Â
a little too late.Â
her chain mace is swirling in the air, seulgiâs wrist putting just the right amount of force when it suddenly comes to a stop. her eyes grow bigger and even ysera is surprised when the mace escapes the riderâs hand. she squeals and tries to reach for it, only managing to almost fall from her saddle. âmy mace, my mace, my mace!â she cries and then she sees when it breaks free from hakyeonâs bow, making its way to the ground and everything seems to be in slow motion. ysera is urging her on her mind while seulgi apathetically looks her weapon falling.Â
with a gasp then, she finally is landing with ysera. she slips from her saddle, knees buckling a bit when she hits the ground and she takes her - now broken - chain mace in her hands. âmy chain mace!â she cries again and looks back to ysera with tear-filled eyes. the dragon makes clear that she thinks seulgi is making a scene, but also feels bad for it. âitâs broken, ysera! itâs broken...âÂ

(past) ugly meetings ,
âAre you alright though? God, I didnât step down too hard did I?â
it occurs to seulgi that maybe she shouldnât be arguing with a stranger on the woods. not because stepping on someoneâs leg isnât rude or something that could be easily avoided, but because of her situation. she looks up and the boy looks substantially cleaner than her, his face deprived of dirty fingers marks and his hair not showing half of the dead leaves that she knows that graces her own. of course, his clothes doesnât seem like the ones someone with a lot of money would wear, but even so, he is obviously superior to a dirt covered thief hiding on the woods. and seulgi discovered that she canât trust people to be kind and to worry about others. her papa used to say that not everybody would be nice like she is and now that she is alone, she isnât in the position of risking her safety.Â
however, she is very irritated. and besides, she is also in pain right now aside from hungry and probably injured in a way that would make running away harder. so seulgi canât control her tongue and her tears when he scoffs. (he scoffs! she canât believe! and she is the impolite and uneducated thief?) âyes, you should!â she replies in an energetic manner. âyou got my leg but what if it was an animal, huh? worse! what if it was a baby animal? what if it was a nest or something. it could be even worse! WATCH WHERE YOUâRE GOINGâ seulgi stops then, taking a deep breath and shedding a few tears over her leg and the humiliating feel creeping to her chest. gods - she just wanted to have a little meal.Â
her bottom lip trembles and seulgi narrows her eyes at the stranger. she always assume people know nothing of delicacy and as he proceeds to make another question, he just confirms such fact. the words sting a bit, though. because seulgi should. she should be home and she should be engaged by now while her mother screamed and made of her a perfect doll. and she should then proceed to cry to her papaâs arms, wrapping her little fingers around the worn-out fabric of his shirt. he should then be caring and supportive in his docile way that makes her both love him more and hate him for never actively doing anything. but this strange boy knows nothing of her âshouldâs and âshouldnâtâs so she just raises her flushed face to him once again.Â
âiâm an orphan!â she cries a half-lie. seulgi is an orphan seeing how she doesnât have parents, however, theyâre not dead nor they abandoned her. itâs more like she abandoned them. her annoyance only decreases when he asks for her well-being and seems to be genuinely concerned. maybe that boy knew a thing or two of being sensible. âdo i look alright?â the female asks and then sighs, rolling up her skirt and then the pants underneath to reveal her leg. âfortunately, iâm not impaired for life. itâll just bother me for some timeâ she stares at him again. âbut seriously, you should pay more attentionâ
delight in the small things.
âthat tree there; when we get to it, we race to the usual spot.â he sends a challenging grin towards his best friend, already getting into position. riding a horse is, in some ways, similar to a dragon. though nothing compares to flying up high with maylanthe, he can admit heâs pretty good at horse riding too. so soon enough they reach the starting line, and without hesitation they race ahead and beyond.
seulgi remembers not being a morning person when she still lived in the comfort of her house - well, moderate comfort. she was never part of nobility. her blood never ran blue and there was no sort of respect for her position. but seulgi was the daughter of merchants and even though she never knew luxuries, her situation was better than the ones of the labor cast. and that made possible for her to sleep in and cover her head with her blankets when the first light of day kissed her cheeks. her chores were simpler ones and her mother insisted that she should become a lady, the perfect prize wife (which was never her cup of tea) Â and that didnât require an early rise.Â
however, when she started living by herself, wandering through lands and stealing to eat, sleep was for when it was dark. seulgi needed to take advantage of the sunlight and that changed her. sure, itâs hard for her to get up when itâs comfortable and her toes curl in denial as she sighs. with a low moan she inches her body up, blinking at the invasive light. seulgi quickly tidies up her space and gets down to have breakfast. itâs still strange, to be a rider instead of an apprentice. she wonders how long itâll take for her to get used to it. and especially, how long itâll take for ysera to get used to it. seulgi can be just fine with rising early, but ysera most definitely isnât. the female is just thinking what her routine will be until ysera is ready to train when jinki shows up.Â
itâs with great joy that she accepts his invitation, happy to be outside of the castle. she is grateful to have a place - a certainty - however, she misses the freedom of the nature sometimes. she knows ysera is the same so seulgi usually tries to take her outside to train. and besides, seulgi is just happy to spend some time with jinki. he was of great help when frustration was getting the best of her (when she thought ysera wouldnât open her eyes for anything) and their friendship just grew stronger afterwards.Â
itâs with a defiant smile that she replies to jinki, teeth flashing and fingers gripping at the reins. âtry to catch up to me, sir!â seulgi chuckles and all her posture changes as she narrows her eyes. as soon as they get to three, she yelps and urges her horse to run faster. âcome on, ace! we must beat the old man!â the female laughs once more, feeling happy and excited and alive as the cold wind caresses her face and she makes her way to what she hopes is a small victory of her own. running away in horses for years must be useful, after all.Â
accidents ,
âHey, hey.â He smiled softly and placed his plate down on the nearest surface, âIâm fine itâs fine.â Some of the gravy on the meat got onto his shirt and boots, but other than that he was virtually untouched. âI can just get more itâs really no problem. The rest of my food is still good, here.â Chanyeol picked up the pear and wiped it off on his shirt, âIâm sure this will be fine if you still want it.â His shirt was ruined already, so adding more to it didnât hurt anything. He felt bad for the poor girl, how could he possibly get mad?
if interrupting someoneâs nice lunch isnât a great offense already, seulgi feels that ruining food is even a bigger sin. she feels the panic inside of her - making her eyes go big and her palms sweat and generally stopping her from shutting her mouth. that is something about seulgi: whenever she is nervous or anxious, she canât control her tongue. the word chain just keeps coming and she feels like her brain is an arm and her tongue is a chain mace swirling sentences out of her. but then the very tall boy speaks and when she sees his mouth opening she already shrinks feeling even smaller in shame and regret. she just doesnât close her eyes because seulgi wants to have her reflexes just in case he decides to drop all the food on her head and throw the plate on her face.Â
she prepares herself, shoulders tense in anticipation and the corners of her mouth hang downwards in surprise when the female finally listens to him. because instead of the scolding - and maybe the swearing - she was expecting and that she deserved, seulgi meet kindness. she blinks, surprise finally finding its way to lock her lips. but just then her sad expression is back and the girl looks like sheâs in the verge of tears - and maybe she is, for the surprise, the kindness and the perfectly good meat that now laid on the floor. the waste. she knows just how hard and how expensive it is to get meat and now itâs ruined. itâs ruined and it makes her want to cry.Â
âare you sure? itâs a big problem, itâs your lunch....â seulgi bites on her bottom lip, voice increasing in tone and volume, regret eating her insides as she looks from the maleâs face to the meat and his plate and her beautiful pear. when he gets her pear and wipes it on his shirt - already stained by her clumsiness - her eyes go wide and her hand reaches for it, a high-pitched whine coming from her throat. âyour shirt....â seulgi bites her knuckles but accepts nicely her pear back, clutching against her chest like a prized possession. âoh the meat!â she cries. âthe meat.... such good meat.... perfectly good meat....â she grieves and takes her free hand to her face. âyouâre nice, though. thank you. i thought youâd scream at me or... i donât know... do very intimidating tall people things...â
delight in the small things.
no⌠swallowing back the strange feeling in his throat, jinki waves politely back and grips his horseâs reigns once more. his mother is dead. thereâs no going back.
the cool wind is welcomed as she breathes and shrugs off the remains of morning indisposition. all of the sleepy warmness of her body is gone and everything is energy and adrenaline, running free through her veins, entangling in her cells. she wonders if that can become a habit. of course, seulgi is already very good at horse riding and not that good in dragon riding, but it is a nice morning exercise - and most importantly, itâs outdoors. the first sun rays blind her for a second of two but she pays little attention to it and narrows her eyes, legs gripping around her horseâs body. she wishes that can become an habit, but not only the horse riding, but the horse riding with her best friend. which just happened to be a senior rider.
sometimes seulgi just thinks of the honors to be jinkiâs friend. he is respected by the great majority of the riders and people looked up to him. even the female looked up to him although she recognizes his flaws. nevertheless, his flaws arenât a necessarily bad thing. they compliment jinki, make him human and accessible - and possible for jinki to be seulgiâs friend. but the thing is, jinki is very good and people acknowledge it whilst seulgi is clumsy and inappropriate a lot of times and bonded to a lazy dragon. the contrast screams and sometimes she notices the looks directed to her when sheâs with jinki. it does make her uncomfortable but it isnât enough for her to treat him differently.Â
moments like that, of friendly competitiveness show just how equals they are. just two people having fun when the sun barely spied the sky. âitâs youthful and fresh!â she retorts, laughing at him. ace runs faster and seulgi is so focused in winning that she doesnât notice that jinki is getting behind. they are close to their destination right now and she canât break her attention. however, when she gets to their place, breath uneven making her chest rise and fall in a hurried pace, she notices heâs not with her.Â
âhey i won--â her words are cut and seulgi looks back only to find her friend paralyzed in the middle of the way. concern graces her features and she guides her horse towards him, forehead wrinkled. âhey, jinkiâ she calls softly, tilting her head when looking at his troubled face. âis something wrong? what happened?âÂ
(past) ugly meetings ,
(Â drcjongin )
she takes a heavy but very content sigh at the look before her. very carefully, seulgi unwraps the little - very little - package and her eyes shine and her mouth fills with water. food. yes, the sight of food. it wasnât much, just a bread and small fruit she gathered in the woods. but it was her first meal that week and itâs so important she almost feels the urge to cry over it. of course, the bread was purchased with the money seulgi managed to get from the pockets of people in the market, but she never takes more than she needs. âgotta eat to live, gotta steal to eatâ - that is her motto. after these few years, she hardly feels guilty anymore. yes, stealing is wrong but so is starving to death and she needs to make decisions and define priorities.Â
her body is partially hidden by the vegetation of the woods and she smiles. her dagger is just by her side just in case she needs to be quick and use it. seulgi isnât big on violence though - she usually makes her exit by running away, however, injuring someone is a very effective way to leave them behind. she doesnât notice that her leg is somewhat exposed when she takes a bite of the bread. itâs dry and harsh on her tongue, but seulgi canât care less. it feels like paradise and she hums happily while her jaw hurts from munching it. she takes a bit of water to help with swallowing it, her back resting against the tree and a smile on her face. yes, eating is very very good.Â
the girl is about to take another bite when thereâs a sharp pain on her leg. a scream leaves her lips and she immediately brings her limb from under the boyâs boot. seulgi whines like a kicked dog and puts her injured leg on top of her other thigh. there are a few tears on her eyes and she sniffs, trying to dry them away. âdonât you look where youâre going?â seulgi cries in an accusatory tone.Â

accidents ,
seulgi loves lunch. for long years she lived with the uncertainty of food. she never knew when - and if - sheâd have food. so living in a place where she was sure to have food three times a day was a total blessing. and for someone whoâs amazed by the breakfast, lunch is incredible. her eyes always sparkle by the sight of the great table and she can barely decide what to eat first. she used to love being in kitchen duty but the cooks understood quickly that she was there to eat more than to work and nowadays she rarely helped preparing the meals. it is a shame but she cares little, after all, seulgi is never embarrassed when she has food even though her meals are greater than many of the other riders.Â
today, however, she is in a hurry. itâs one of the few days ysera is being cooperative and seulgi just needs to take advantage of that before the dragon goes back to her lazy ways. oh she loves ysera so much but truthfully, she is a bit jealous of dragons that... well, that are awake for a good part of the day. seulgi just needs to hide these kind of thoughts from her beloved dragon or for sure she wonât get anything. with a sigh, she stretches her arm to get a fruit from the nearest tray and everything would be fine and she would be in her way to meet ysera if she could just hold the damn pear right. like itâs a slippery rock, seulgi loses it from her grasp and unfortunately, the pear lands right on the plate of a fellow rider.Â
âshi--â she proceeds to take her hands to her mouth, remembering jinki lectures on her swears. âheavens, iâm so sorry. shhhhh iâm so sorryâ seulgi hurries to say, not sure as what to do. after all, she probably just ruined someoneâs lunch. âhopefully youâre not very mad, but you probably are since i dropped a pear on your plate hahaha- which is.. of course... not nice.... iâm... heavens, iâm very sorry. hopefully... you can still eat it? and hopefully your clothes arenât dirty or anythingâ she scratches her neck. âi... iâm very sorry. sorry, sorry! iâm so clumsy, oh goodness--â
