“You may have too, Greyson. Unless you help motivate me to.”

“We can do both! It’ll be a pinky swear with a differnece. I’ll promise to motivate, as long as you hold up your end of the deal.”

“I think I am going to start listening to them more now,”

“I hope so Jensen. No quitting-- I don’t have to make you pinky swear, right?”

Is that your final answer?

“I’m pretty sure I’m not supposed to be here. Being how late it is but figured being out on a Wednesday night wasn’t such a bad idea.. What do you think?”

“No tip,” Dakota said quietly underneath her breath, “Must have been too busy play grab ass with me all night to remember. Asshole.”

Walking over to the register, she heard footsteps approaching. “Be with you in one second,” Dakota said, typing in the final check total before looking up at the new guest with a smile. “Would you like a table or a booth?”

When Dakota addressed him once again, he kindly responded to her greeting. “Actually, neither.” Chad smiled, as he raised the wallet he held in his right hand to eye level. “Something for the lost and found. I spotted this on the floor on my way out. I believe it belonged to someone who dined here recently.”

Riley: Mr. Fortman, your appointment has been resceduled for Tuesday at 3 pm.

Riley: Give me a call if you have any questions.

“You know, I have a pretty good bullshit detector and it’s going off like a fucking banshee right now. You wanna tell me what you’re doing here?”

“Um...here where? The street? I’m just heading to my vehicle.”

“Oh, god no, I’ve seen stuff but no, medical gore isn’t something I particularly like. Besides, I like the surprise.”

“I’ve got a stiff on a metal slab and I want someone I can trust to slice his junkie body open and tell me if he died from stab wounds, or a beating or drugs. But, if it’s all the same, doc, I sort of need the results to be between me and you, not even my team can know, alright?”

As odd as the request seemed, Chad’s decision was made simply with a curt nod of his head. “Consider it done. I expect you’ll want to be present as it’s conducted? Or would that raise too much suspicion?”

“You are not going to tell our daughter that I didn’t drink that green goo,” she replied.  There was mischief in her eyes as well and she stepped towards him, placing her finger against the center of his chest.  “Do that and I’ll have to think of a punishment that fits the crime.”

“Yes I am,” he countered, a grin tugging at lips. “Such intimidation, whatever will I do,” Chad teased with humour in his tone. It wasn’t until he considered what her line of punishment would be that his grin faltered, giving way to a face of faux surprise. "You wouldn’t dare!” Chad noted in an accusatory tone, his gaze narrowing.

“I kind of want to do it again but I don’t like the brain freeze that comes with it.”

"That’s a small price to pay for that iced sugar high, don’t you think? I say go for it.”

“You know, not even my dad tells me when I can or can’t drink so I don’t see why you would feel the need to do so?”

"I don’t recall saying or rather telling you anything of the sort. What I did was make a statement of which you are free to do with at your will.”
