Impulse. Januarty Day 5. I thought this prompt would lead to something else, but on impulse I walked a mile and a half through an old neighborhood and wandered around one of my favorite lakes in Orlando. 🦆

Blot. Januarty Day 4. I think the traditional definition of blot is to mark out and remove but any time I play with fountain pens, I end up making blots and drips a part of what I’m doing and embracing the mess. 🖋️
Metal. Januarty Day 3. We’ve been watching a lot of JRR Tolkien lore lately and what could be more metal than that horned Sauron helm. 🌋
Slide. Januarty Day 2. Ah the slip-n-slide aka anything flat you can cover in soap and flop onto in your yard 💦
Begin. Januarty Day 1. Nineteen days into the month seems like the perfect time to start a new habit of sketching every day 😅 Also thanks @artpromptcal for the list of prompts.

Quick sketch while waiting on students and thinking about how I’ve never owned a pair of Nike blazers before
I forget how much I love working on a Wacom Cintiq and there was one in my classroom today 🤩 Here’s some vaporwave Mando goodness.
New normals yet so excited to be back worshiping together @reallifefl. Also can’t help but hear Chance going na na na 3️⃣
Day 3 - You Love ... Starting New
Whether it’s a brand new sketchbook, peeling the plastic off a new device or the endless possibilities of each new day, I love the newness of starting. Perhaps it is eternal optimism and maybe it is a bit of laziness at finishing, but either way ... let’s Command+N this thing and get going!
Day 2 - Show us where you live
Disney is opening back up this week and like everyone else, I am so curious for what a new normal will look like. Who‘d have thought hazmat suits of the future would come equipped with collectible pins and a churros slot?

Day 1 - Draw Yourself
In my most perfect form, I likely come with a backpack and I’m definitely barefoot.
Near the start of quarantine, the great folks at Procreate released this lovely brush set and list of prompts. I haven't known what to set my pencil efforts toward recently so it seemed like a good time to jump into the 31 days of drawing. Hope you enjoy!
Okay so I sometimes have a hard time putting money toward digital things. A physical cup of coffee? I’m in. A digital movie rental? I’ll mull it over for hours. Even really important things like supporting the end of human trafficking or being a heard voice when lives matter are hard to push the button on.
Compassion, empathy, peace of mind, guilt or even sheer force of will should all be enough to motivate me, but sometimes they aren’t. I know, I know ... we all broken in our own way.
So if you are like me and need a little extra push, here is a list of wonderful things you can get in return for donating to #blacklivesmatter:

Enjoy and do let me know if I’m not alone in this or if you know of a super long German word that better describes this feeling of interaction inaction.
This may not resonate with everyone, but I have always connected with the power of Hellboy's redemptive story. A creature destined to usher in Armageddon; he instead pushes back against the darkness to protect (as the X-Men would say) a mankind that hate and fear him.
Made it a sticker on Redbubbble, if you are so inclined ;)
We are all seeking an escape.
More figuring out figures. Thanks to Hannah for the starting pose 🌴
Had an absolute blast working up this sheet of me in different art styles. And yes the Sailor Moon looks more like Studio Ghibli, but I do love me some Totoro so it's probably fine 😁

Can we all agree that @netflix is one of the silent heroes of our time right now? Today is tomorrow is today and yet Netflix still works every time I push that icon. 💌
Pretend this rock is a seed and that all this isolation is okay ... "you might not feel like you can do much now, but that's just because, well, you're not a tree yet. You just have to give yourself some time. You're still a seed" ... and remember that things will eventually be normal again.
