Much of the anti-Palestinian bigotry on this site is reflective of something stranger: the infantilisation of politics. Defences of Zionism are increasingly expressed through the language of hurt feelings, sentimental appeals, and subjective fears - to a point where even incitement to genocide is dressed up in cuteified terms. But it makes no difference. To be 'upset' at the sight of a keffiyeh, or to say that 'from the river to the sea' is more threatening than the IDF blowing up hospitals, is to admit tacitly that you're a racist who sees a people's struggle for freedom as a personal affront. A podcast about Israeli propaganda which I really recommend listening to is Bad Hasbara, especially the earlier episodes where they lay a lot of the educational groundwork about this stuff.

the 'too long, did not listen' version: Israel has been dressing up Zionism in progressive language for a long time and it is deliberate and strategic. While their public officials are courting fascists and christian evangelists, their paid social media accounts recruit lgbt and black spokespersons to sell the zionist message to progressives in a package they're familiar with.

There's tears, and 'feeling violated' and 'feeling unsafe' and 'I just want to talk about racism in the pro-Palestine moment' and 'we just need to be more sensitive about the words we use' and it's all lies. Their goal is to either spread Zionism or at least so doubt and division among progressives and leftists so they will not form a united opposition to an obvious genocide.

I don't even want to see critiques of it. I don't want to see hatewatch reviews about how bad or dumb or racist or transphobic parts of it are like people did for the fantastic beasts movies of the hogwarts video game. You are part of the problem. Do not feed the machine. Let it die. You do not need to consume media you don't like just to show off to everyone else how much you don't like it. It's especially heinous if you say something like "I'm donating the cost of a movie ticket or a month's streaming subscription to a trans charity," because that doesn't balance the scales, it doesn't negate the evil, it just shows you are willing to support both sides, making you a spineless coward.

Just fucking ignore it and understand that it's going to be recationary on purpose. It's going to be full of bait. Warner Bros is counting on there being a ton of controversy to boost the numbers because there's no such thing as bad publicity.

DO NOT ENGAGE. Let it come and go, and maybe the numbers will be bad enough that it gets canceled before it gets to book 7. Probably not, though.
