The costume fantasy drama Bai Yao Pu 百妖谱  (translates as Hundred Demon Chronicle) is expected to start filming in July. The shooting cycle is 130 days for 40 episodes.

So far the only fairly certain cast member is Deng Wei with the casting carousel offering a new name every day for the female lead.

The drama is expected to start filming in early August.

The leads seem to be Deng Wei and Ai Mi.

The fantasy drama The Mystic Nine Against the Coming Storm (九门) has been “tentatively scheduled” to start airing on 5th August.

The cast includes William Chan, Zeng Shunxi, Chen Yao, Ying Haoming and Wang Yiting, with guest appearances by Wang Jinsong, Li Naiwen and Xu Zhengxi.

The drama has now passed the review, however, it has only been approved for 30 episodes.

The modern-day romance drama Dong Feng Chui You Sheng 冬风吹又生 (translates as “the winter wind blows again”) is expected to start filming in Changchun at the end of July. The shooting cycle is 90 days for 26 episodes.

The currently rumoured leads are Chen Duling and Qu Chuxiao.

The drama has been launched today.

The Republican era romance drama Overdo (Chinese title 这一秒过火) has passed the review and has been approved for 33 episodes.

The leads are Zhang Linghe, Wang Churan, Fu Xinbo, Xu Zhenxuan, He Qiu and Wang Zisu.

There must have been quite a bit of juggling going on behind the scenes for the “tentatively scheduled” airing date to change so many times. Obviously, nobody wants their drama to air during the high phase of the World Cup.

The updates never seem to end for this one…

The leads are Tan Songyun and Liu Xueyi, with Wu Tiantian, Ye Qing and Pu Tao in other roles.

The modern-day romance drama Where Her Hemline Brushed (Chinese title 小城春色) is expected to start filming in Yunnan in early July. The shooting cycle is 90 days for 24 episodes.

The currently rumoured leads are Wang Yuwen and Zhou Keyu.

The drama will be broadcast on Tencent.
