As the other set to work, McCree settled his back against a wall and folded his arms over his chest. Might as well get comfortableâ Lord knows how long he would be here. With eyes trained on the cyborgâs form, Jesse focused on searching for any areas that he could offer critique. However, as his gaze followed the shuriken slicing through the air and into the wall, McCree realizedâ
âin all honesty? He hadnât the slightest clue where to begin. Not only did he not work with throwing weapons, but this guyâs style of combat was entirely different from Jesseâs own. Cowboy and ninja really werenât two things that could mix easily. So just what was Reyes thinking when he told him to become a tutor for someone whom didnât even have the same skillset?
In the end, McCree offered him little more than a hum in response to the performance - a brief and nearly silent announcement of âYâthink?â following shortly after. Clearly this guy was having a lot more trouble than Jesse had initially thought. Cybernetics were hard to get used to - even he had a great deal of difficulty becoming used to the feeling of a synthetic arm upon his skin, but it was just that - an arm.  He couldnât imagine having to adjust to an entirely new body.
âGonna be completely honest with you hereâ I ainât entirely sure where to begin.â He spoke, looking down at his own fake arm in an attempt to scan for any inspiration. Câmon - he had to say something. âButâŚ.. I know I had trouble gettinâ used to the difference in weight. Ya need to remember that youâve got a different make now - balancinâ the force youâre drivinâ into your punches is the tricky part.â
Hopefully that would suffice.
Analyzing adversaries was a skill in which Genjiâs ninja training demanded exemplary skill. A successful assassin could not accomplish their goal with an inability to predict their enemyâs next move, without understanding the person they were to eliminate.
However, it did not take an expert to see how completely and utterly lost McCree looked as he stood behind Genji, drawing a slow hum of acknowledgement at the cyborgâs performance. Embarrassment warmed his face beneath his mask as his fingers closed over empty air in search for the short, brightly-colored locks that once rolled along his head and then dropped to his side.
If only he had been assigned someone who specialized in a fighting style similar to his own.
The instinct to make a smart remark at McCreeâs admission of incertitude was more difficult to resist than Genji would care to admit, undoubtedly fueled by his frustration at the inability to control his own body. The fact that the man insisted on emphasizing the difference between the makeups of the two Overwatch members was a contributing factor. He adverted his gaze when Jesseâs eyes fell over his own cybernetic limb for the second time. The action made his stomach, or whatever was left of it, turn in his abdomen.
â ćăăăŤăIt is true, the weight of my new body is different than what I am used to.â Even Genjiâs voice sounded unnatural through his mask. Inorganic. âHowever, it is not the only issue i am having. While this bodyâs abilities have been enhanced, my mind remains the same. Meaning... I canât keep up with it. It is too fast. ăăăŻă§ăăăă§ăă â
Even in his mother tongue. Synthetic. Artificial.
âImpressive that you have mastered a cybernetic.â Genji made a point to nod his head in the direction of Jesseâs metal hand, not bothering to hide the way his voice hardened over the syllable. â I assume you have advice on how you accomplished that feat?â
Okay. Perhaps now he was being an asshole, but ripping apart his old body would not soften his attitude.
