“I have to have hope. If not, it becomes too depressing.” Most thoughts of humans did that to him though. Drake really wasn’t their biggest fan. “I wonder what it would be like to live like that though. I mean, we have no reason to really fear death any time soon and so little can hurt us that I think it would be hard to truly understand them.” Drake sighed, “I suppose in the end, that is their problem, not ours.”

“Maybe if humans ever come to accept us for what we are, they could use their science to fight it out.” The humans were always making new discoveries so Drake thought it would be amazing to see what they could find out about dragonkind. But he wouldn’t be the one to approach them. He wasn’t about to take that kind of risk.

Drake nodded, “I think that is part of it. They want to live their short lives to the fullest and if that means taking some risks, so be it. At the same time, sometimes I think they believe themselves to be immortal. So it could really go either way. They have the “going to die sometime” mentality or the “nothing could kill me” mentality.”

“Possibly. Though from what I’ve seen, they are just using their science to become more lazy.” Then again, that would make them so much easier to catch and eat. “Sill, it would be nice if they came to accept us.”

Ash sighed heavily, if a bit dramatically. “I think it’s a combination of the two. Added in with a bit of, “fuck it, what do I have to lose?” mentality. Then they do something foolish and learn from their mistakes...if they survive them.”
