The lieutenant frowned slightly at that… strange policy. “My Apologies Captain. Is there anything else I can get you?” She ventured, concern clear.

(said rapid-fire) “no i’m actually quite stupid, so stupid that i didn’t quit while i was ahead — i apologize deeply yadoumaru-taichou! you have made yourself quite clear! this ant of an unworthy son-figure will just go do penance at the nearest waterfall to purge any such inappropriate thoughts from his mind and banish them to the depths of hell! okay bye!”

“…Does this have something to do with the whole parental figure idea? If so, I’m sorry that I made it weird. Since I can’t remember ever having parents, I guess my concepts are more… fluid. It honestly comes up more as an ageplay thing than as… an actual genuine attempt by someone to invest in me.”

After all, she cared about Lisa. And part of that care came from ensuring that Lisa’s problems were not ignored. Even if they weren’t fixed, they could still be there. Something to work around. 

“… So ya are worryin’ about someone else. Geez. Everyone works out their own problems… but if they are our friend, I s’pose I can help.”

‘ when do i ever look happy? what is this? stop picking on me and noticing weird shit! everything's fine. ‘ there wasn’t much change to her routine and she was getting the hang of her work load and life back wasn’t as awful as it wasn in the beginning. so she wasn’t really complaining. Lisa had no problems for hiyori to worry about. and there certainly wasn’t anything to fix either. 

“Oh. Sounds like a regular Thursday then,” Hiyori pointed out with a nod. She was always frustrated or pissed off - usually. But nowadays… she was a little less tense. Just a smidgen.

Maybe she was happier too, since New Year’s Eve.

“They’re fine - just a bit worried ya might be unhappy. Are ya tryin’a do this thing where yer thinkin’ of other people’s happiness Miss Bookworm who wants everyone ‘ta have a happy ending?”

There wasn’t a lot Lisa wanted to talk about. She was close-mouthed as ever… but Hiyori was sure that if there was something really concerning, she would know about it.

“… Alright. Are ya stressed?”

‘ not stressed. more frustrated and maybe kinda pissed off. ‘ she didn’t think it was her place to talk about something that didn’t concern her. so she just kept it all to herself. and instead let out big aggravated exhales. 

“… What stuff?”

“Who shall I murder?”
