I couldn't be at Everfree Northwest this year, but I can share the zine I made for last year's show!

The Hub, which was broadcasting the show at the time, decided to have a little fun and present the Canterlot Wedding episodes as if they were a real live celebrity wedding. While I agree that in principle this is a fun thing to do, I will also point out that... this is a tv show for very young children. Young children are not... really the target audience for celebrity wedding stuff? I feel like you have to be like, at least into high school for that stuff to really mean anything.

Now, a critical part of a celebrity wedding presentation is that you have a host, and guests, to gossip about the celebrities. That's like, the whole point of doing this kind of coverage of a celebrity wedding, right? The host that they got is... Tori Spelling!

So, the Canterlot Wedding episodes are being broadcast live and being bumpered with these live action segments of Tori spelling talking about it like it's a real live celebrity wedding where all these wacky things are happening, and things are going strangely, and there's drama and all this. Honestly in hindsight, it's kind of a genius idea for a fun way to present the episodes. It's just. They sure freakin' acted like the audience was supposed to know who Tori Spelling was. The voice overs were very enthusiastic and Spelling was clearly supposed to be like, a semi important celebrity gossip show host. And like maybe she is? I don't know anything about her really. Wikipedia says she's been in a bunch of tv shows I've never seen. I can't speak to that.

So that's why there's Tori Spelling in this zine. Because nobody knows who she is. Congratulations on sharing in the same feeling of confusion the rest of us were feeling when we were watching the show as it was being aired.

Over fifty years of data show a peak in PFAS (also known as "forever chemicals") content in seabird eggs in the 90s, followed by a decrease as regulations went into effect. The most recent findings show a 70% decrease of most common PFAS.

We are making genuine progress! Producers are dramatically altering how much they use PFAS and how much gets released in effluent, but also there's a lot better understanding of how to remove PFAS from the environment!
