Evelynn did not respond immediately. Instead while gasping for breath, the demon forced herself to expel the bullet. Feeling it pass through her chest cavity was like having purposefully pumped a syringe full of acid through one's tissue. Her shadow flesh ripped open, 'bleeding' black tar as the bullet's tip worked its way out and fell on the floor with a quiet ping.

Experiencing agony on herself felt like some twisted joke of the universe. It took away Evelynn's breath as shock waves rushed through her whole being. Her wound was still leaking puss. It would take a few hours for her body to close up that tunnel burrowing through it.

Her head swung over towards the "Vayne" on the bed. Watching the effigy dissolve into purple smoke, her lashers flicked in displeasure. Hearing the telltale whisk of Shauna's crossbow firing once more, the Demon of Agony swiftly leapt off the bed, a blur of blackish purple shadows before she quickly reestablished a physical form. Her bones creaked all the while. Her lashers were raised like a pair of cobras. ready to strike, and her clawed hands were lifted up.

"Believe me, doll, that mistake won't happen twice", Evelynn said, "As for growing desperate?" A soft chuckle and a claw brushed over Evelynn's lips pulling away viscous saliva. "We both know that ain't true. I just grew extremely tired of you trailing after me like some glorified butler. I don't need you to wipe my butt, sweetie."

With these words, Evelynn dashed forward in a blur of black and purple. Her lashers came shooting through the air like a cat-o-nine tails. They struck Vayne across her face. While Evelynn had intentionally made it look like she was going for the eyes, all she did, was rip deep grooves into Vayne's cheeks. A warning in her eyes as the demon appeared a bit away from her attacker, in case Vayne had attempted to slow her down via shooting.

"Quit while you can, Shauna", Vayne said in cold warning, "You may believe yourself so very special with your bolts of silver and your hypocrisy, but mark my words: In my aeons of existence, I have had hundreds of Shauna Vaynes come after me. They all regretted it! Believe me, if I actually bothered, I could give you heights of agony, which make what I did to your parents nothing but a warm-up. That being said..." Her voice dropped into a sultry soft note, mocking Vayne just as she had been taunted in turn. "Smile, sweetheart."

  The sting of claws raking across her cheeks were a result of her luckily side stepping away from much more horrendous injuries ; nevertheless , the crimson cascade would drizzle down her face and begin to stain the threads of her sleeping gown .

  Shauna would tumble , firing another silvered bolt towards the dreaded demon in the process . . . the projectile hurling through the air merely to graze across Evelynn's calf and into the wall behind her , ❝ Believe me , the only smile that shall cross my face is when your head is proudly mounted above the mantle of this estate ! ❞ she was aware she could not let up the pressure , opting to tumble sideways once again so that she was positioned behind the cover of her bed . . . veteran fingers reaching beneath to produce an alluring vial of green bubbling fluid .

  With all the strength musterable , Shauna would launch the glass container towards Evelynn , reveling in the sight of it crashing and bursting against the other's hand and eagerly eating away at its flesh . . . Vayne was no stranger to using the vile characteristics of a beast to slay other beasts . . . and the vial of Abyssal Acid was no exception .

  ❝ I've dedicated my life to bringing an end to your lust for murder . . . and unlike the fools who have ill-confidentially tried to slay you ? I say you can gladly reunite with them in Hell . ❞ aiming her crossbow once more , Vayne would fire a bolt , its aim designed straight between the eyes of the demon woman . . . but would it connect ? Would the shot prove true ?

  Akali could easily murder high ranking Demacia officials , infiltrate the deepest reaches of Noxian defenses , even smooth talk her way through Bilgewater . . . but Luxanna Crownguard's heart was one mountain that she struggled ever so with .

  Emotions grow better than her , a fit of frustration causing one of her kunai to be plunged within a nearby wall . . . yet it doesn't feel cathartic at all , and the ninja simply turns towards the balcony overlooking the city scape . . . her face burrowed into her palms as she tries to steady her heart rate .
