// Sometimes you're a little guy and you decide, "Yeah, sure! I'll make a roleplay blog after so, so long" and then you do, you make it fancy, you put things together, you read and watch the source material several times over to have a more solid feel for the character (this was rewatch 27 and 28, first time re-reading). You're super happy with it and everything! // And then your muse just up and disappears after a two starts, some replies, and one short. Chise, darling, what do you mean you wanted to take a little nap? // Anyway, hi, I'm back again with ?? this girl who's being SO nice and wants to explore.
Oh he can see just how nervous the other had gotten over being given a greeting with his name. Perhaps where they came from such meetings and greetings were more formal? Something that was needed right away, rather than letting it naturally show up. He held his hands up to help show he wasn't at all upset at the other for skipping their name upon first coming here. After all he often still forgot to greet someone new with his own name, still too used to being known.
"Its a pleasure to meet you Chise, but please relax... I do not mind keeping everything very casual." He preferred it even, and would hope that this would help a bit more of the tenseness he could see in the other would fade. There was no need to be overly formal in a place like this, at least with him. He gives another soft smile, eyes staying closed as he just listens to the other.
"It seems to be rather common... I've only been here a bit over a month myself. Though I've met a handful that have come here after me when I come to check like today. I can help however I can though, even if I only have learned the nearest areas to here the best."
Night had always fallen too soon for him to explore too far with his sight as it was. If he had his staff he could stay out longer, see what the nightlife was like... but he had to wait for now.
"By my own studies, it seems the island almost picks at random who to take from other worlds. I've met many who are not from my own home, and I can guess you are also from a new world not like mine. However so far this world hasn't posed any danger that I've seen..." Still he didn't know if it could show its danger in other ways, and he was just in a calm time for the islands. Such truths would need to be learned in time rather than studies.
'Keeping everything very casual'? That was much easier to say than to do for the young mage. She didn't have much friends before and when she finally had grown a circle of those she cared about she was suddenly... here. Though, she could give it a try. Even if she still was quite a bit more formal with her own master who has known her for at least a year now. Right, easier said than done. Adults were afforded more respect but surely she could do this much? At least try... she thought.
Chise's head tilted slightly to the side, thinking of what exactly to say. "I've seen stranger people before but never any that smelled like the baked treats someone precious to me would make," she started while nodding her head rather softly. With how little she had been able to figure in her still short time here, bringing up memories of her home and family were nothing to be surprised at. Maybe asking if he's really a cookie would be odd and rude, but this all was a little more strange than her usual life. "But if you're saying that we're not from the same world then that's... that?"
In any case, by Pure Vanilla's words, this is not only common for another to come to this world but frequent enough that it can be a shortly-made habit. The habits of others were none of her business, but she still deduced that with Pure Vanilla having been around for no more than a month and the fact that he mentioned having met several others after it was more than those once in a while kind of things. However, the fact that dangers were seemingly hard to come by, maybe this is the breath of fresh air that Chise needed. It's not like she's deeply worried about her friend and roommate at the college, and surely someone would pick up where she left off. Maybe this is what she needed...
The little robin of a mage shuffled her weight and feet at having stood around doing nothing for long enough. The thought of a semblance of a break manifesting back into her nearly inhuman ability to refuse to sit still without some sort of anything to do. "Uh, so... is there much to do here? Things like gardening or handcrafts?" Chise's question of a sentence felt almost incomplete, not feeling all too willing to reveal about her magic and abilities that she seemingly left at home. She felt something like embarrassment at asking such a thing knowing that he, too, is relatively new to the area. "S-sorry, it's been a while since I've been on my own again and you kind of remind me of someone...?" But not really because that kind, quick to be casual, and still somewhat distant blond man was a priest who doesn't seem very religious or priestly at all. Chise couldn't admit that to Pure Vanilla, however.
despite having been here for a little while already, keigo couldn't exactly say he had many friends. some years ago he would convince himself he was fine without and take pride in the path of the loner as an addendum to his pretentious persona, but after truly experiencing what it meant to have fun with friends every single day, he couldn't help but realise how much loneliness hurt.
yes, he had people he talked with in the new school. yes, he had acquaintances. but to an introvert like him -- and one who desperately wanted to act cool towards strangers at that -- it was hard to establish any true meaningful bonds.
so when spoken to, at first he didn't realise the words were directed at him.
"huh?" and it wasn't even someone he knew. why would a stranger be talking to him of all people? why did she want to know where he lived? unless this was some sort of scam. he didn't see many other reasons people would want to randomly hit him up like that. "sorry, i'm not interested in buying anything." better to just reject and move on.
Oh, is that how she came off? Chise supposed it was not the most convenient way to figure anything out but without someone to do more of the information gathering for her, she just had to figure how others did it and in some form emulate them. Still, she couldn't help the small "Ah..." that left her mouth agape at such a short and concise answer to her maybe not so very simple question. At least she thought it was a simple question.
How did she intend to go about fixing this little misunderstanding? All that the shorter of the two could really do was hold her empty hands up as an attempt at presenting her lack of items to sell, shaking her head. Chise's face warped into a mix of light misery and heavy shame, her body tensing from the worry flowing into her muscles, and feeling her generally default state of being put together slowly come apart like a wet cardboard box. No, she could handle this. Probably.
"Oh, well, I actually just arrived here... recently. I don't have anything to sell... I was hoping to find my way around?" the girl muttered as her arms returned to their resting position, idly running her hands along the hem of her coat's sleeves. A few seconds went by as Chise thought about what to do, thinking to how she previously handled a similar enough interaction. "I'm Chise Hatori. Sorry for... startling you?"
She wasn't sure if 'startle' is the correct word but it's just what came to mind. But she also couldn't fully get herself out of thinking why this other person felt like a similar presence. She could ask about it later if she so felt the need.

Pure Vanilla knew it was good to keep up his habits, he even did it enough that he could make the walk from his given housing to the Central District without opening his eyes. Of course he still wore the pair of given glasses for when he needed to see just a bit more, but it didn't change the enjoyment he could get from already learning the path.
He only opens his eyes when he nears the central district, and it seems hes here a bit later, but there is still someone new. She only seem slightly shorter than he is, so he can't help but wonder just how young the other might be. Just how many children end up at these isles?
"Ah," Well that answered that she was fully new, "This is the central District at Aevum Isles. You just got here a bit ago right?" He answers friendly, after all the other seemed just as confused as he had been, but also nervous.
"I'm Pure Vanilla, you are?" He adds on, hoping his name would help ease the other at least a little bit.
"Pur-" Chise cut herself off before letting herself slip into musing on the name presented. In her haste to try and get her bearings and gain and understanding of her situation, the young mage had momentarily forgotten the pleasantries that were meant to come before a conversation with another. The shame was clear to see on her face as her cheeks had become tinted with the slight pink hue of embarrassment, eyes widened in small horror, and her mouth desperately tried to grab hold onto words while her thoughts trailed behind.
She blurted seemingly random and disconnected syllables, sometimes dipping back into her mother tongue for a brief moment as she attempted to right herself, "I- sorry- Ch-" The shorter girl's arms came up slightly from their resting position, hands formed into clenched fists, head having begun its descent into a shallow hang as she made her final small effort to almost shout out, "I-I'm Chise Hatori!"
Finally, relief as some of Chise's tense posture had wiped itself away when her name come out of her mouth. At last having properly introduced herself, the name of the other became a point of interest in the girl's mind. Pure Vanilla? Sure, there were some names that were most definitely less than human— her teacher's own being one of them— but a name like 'Pure Vanilla' was a departure from the titles she was used to. Maybe it had something to do with the sweet scent he seemed to radiate. But she could hardly let herself continue to be rude to the other.
"Right, yes, I just arrived here so I'm... a little lost. All of this is new to me and I've not heard of anything like this," the young mage states with an equal amount of confusion and acceptance hanging off each portion of her sentence. She could fend for herself in the end, as she recently found, but was it really so much to ask for a little bit of peace?
She had experienced a summoning recently, visited another area in a dream, and traversed into a separate realm entirely, so nothing was completely novel in retrospect. However everything Chise was experiencing came with her own concerns of home, worries of those she had surrounded herself with and their state. Though being transported to a place she wasn't used to before may not have been new to her but judging by this Pure Vanilla's reaction... "Is this a common occurrence, then?
@lupineguard
The Central District was an area to behold. Although at one point Chise had been partially used to a city's center through necessity for commuting and the rare business, becoming acquainted to an entirely new 'central' area was going to wear down on her mental and physical states. Especially since she was without the one she considered her teacher.
Nothing had seemed recognizable thus far in the vast littleness the young mage had explored. She had just about readied herself to move along elsewhere when she had spotted another person with a familiar feeling to them but she couldn't quite place it.
Chise drew closer, giving the other a short study, still trying to connect the dots in her head, then speaking up, "Excuse me... do you live around here?"
@purecompassion
Exploration hadn't gone quite as envisioned with Chise having barely moved away from where she arrived. While everything surrounding was very beautiful and fresh to her eyes, having to explore anew brought up some little ugly memories... but when she had finally noticed that someone was approaching, the once tormented mage quickly mentally pushed everything down.
"Um...!" she exclaimed without thinking too much about how to follow up. This... was a person, right? Something seemed a little off for a moment then realizing that this person wasn't exactly the human she had grown accustomed to. A muryan, maybe? Her confusion was thinly hidden on her face as she made an attempt to continue, "Where... are we?"
Moments of peace seemed hard to come by for Chise. A life of turbulence, instability, and unrest, only to be plagued in the end by extra urges, senses, and memories not hers. And yet when she had processed what she was given and the kind words said to her, something felt just a little bit lighter.
Did the world seem quieter? The scents weren't as strong as before, and she felt like she had lost something important yet it wasn't an unwelcome change. Well, maybe a little considering Chise had finally grown accustomed to all of the heightened senses and strength bestowed to her by the Dragon's Curse... but her lack of curling over in anguish meant the immortality remained. Hopefully.
Something further seemed off, however. Stowing the newly acquired items into a coat pocket, the young mage had made an attempt to call for her staff only to be met with nothingness coming forth. In fact, she felt particularly... plain. She still felt her connection to Ruth and was calmed by that much but the dragon's senses were not required to figure that she was neither at the college, at the home she shared with those dear to her, and not even in the land of fairies.
Returning to the college was at the forefront of Chise's thoughts but without any knowledge of her surroundings and this new land, all hopes of getting around would be dashed quickly. With the same nearly blank expression, the little mage turned to understand just where she was.
//Putting out a starter call for Chise! //Please leave a little ♥ to get girlie some interaction! ;; //It's been a little bit (ten years??) since I've done this on tumblr so I'm capping at 2 for now and I'll add more later if I need/ want to! //EDIT: Closed, thank you for your consideration!!
