What opens the door to fakeclaiming is creating a narrative that many systems are liars and fakers who need to be weeded out.

For example my friend accidentally smashed Lilac's head in with a frying pan because he accidentally caused it to happen in headspace.

1. Dismisses the studies that indicate that DID or OSDD can be found in like 10% of the population, OSDD especially we barely qualify as rare.

2. Creates the impression that anyone claiming to be a system should be aggressively interrogated and made to prove their existence before being shown any sort of empathy or respect.

3. Labelling specific things as being signs of faking like a headspace, source headmates, etc. despite many of these supposed "faker tells" are documented psychological phenomena observed within systems.

It's always important to remember this:

It's better to humour someone who is faking than invalidate someone who is being sincere.

Supporting someone who may be lying about having something has very little negative impact on others overall. Accusing someone of faking who is telling the truth will probably totally ruin their life and mental state.
