I get it - The ending was rushed, Fujimoto burnt out, and the Retconning feels like an invalidation of the whole journey. Tantamount to betrayal of the readers and their time, almost. But honestly, taking a step back, I feel the conclusion itself was kinda fitting - with years of Denji barreling down the worst timeline, making and breaking every connection he has in this hopeless world, maybe the only way out was to escape altogether. Sure, the convenient Deus Ex Machina nature of it all might not be the most satisfying way to end it, but just like Clannad, the boy and all his peers could use a damn break. Just wish it had a little more time to realize itself... Nevertheless, Thank you, Chainsaw Man.
