Hello, my name is Harleen Quinzel. I am an intern psychiatrist at Arkham Asylum. I am using this blog to record the sessions between me and my patients. [Roleplay page, pre-Harley Quinn. I may show her twist into the criminal Harley Quinn, but for now, I am using her mainly as Dr. Harleen Quinzel.]
After all my hard times with these patients, perhaps now I have some bliss. Perhaps now things can be treated in a civilized manner. My patient today is Victor "Freeze" Fries. Otherwise known to the public, as Mister Freeze. I'm looking forward to this. Clearly not near as much as Joker. I feel I have a connection to Joker that I've yet to create with my other patients. None of my patients have ever behaved kindly to me like he. Perhaps Mister Freeze?
I exhaled slowly, hesitating to inhale the cold air, listening as the footsteps stop outside the door. After a few seconds of silence, the door slowly opened, and in Mister Freeze was pushed. He entered slowly and took his seat, looking at me with a cold, emotionless expression. It was hard not to pity him. In his empty gaze, he looked sad. No doubt he was. I understand where he's at right now. Losing a loved one. He lost Nora like I lost Guy... Though Nora has a chance of being alive. Guy's gone...
I shook the thought of Guy out of my mind, and smiled to Mister Freeze, before moving my hand forward to the tape recorder, turning it on. "Patient Interview number seven. Patient's name, Victor Fries, otherwise known as Mister Freeze. Hello Victor, I'm Dr. Harleen Quinzel, your temporary therapist. It's come to my understanding that I'm your therapist for today because your usual is home sick, with..." I look down at my clipboard, looking at the note I had jotted down about his usual psychiatrist, and accidentally giving a soft snicker. "...a cold... Your usual doctor is home sick with a cold..." I slowly pushed the smile away, confused why it was so hard for me to not laugh at it. Usually I'm more professional when interviewing but at the time I wasn't. I couldn't understand why.
"So Victor, when was the last time you attempted and/or succeeded in a break-out of the asylum?" Mister Freeze looked at me, almost angrily. "Today..." My eyes widened a little. "Oh... Today..." I looked back at him, a polite smile and my voice a little softer. "And how have you been feeling since returned to your cell? Why did you attempt escape in the first place?" He looked calmer as he explained. "I have Nora, my beautiful wife, hidden where I have been staying so she won't melt away and die. The television in my cell showed a news report. Nora has been found. Police are taking her from me. I had to get out and save her." I looked down, sadly, as I wrote notes. "You could wait it out in your cell. Wait until your time is up. Then go get your wife." Freeze looked at me, right in the eyes. He didn't look angry, but his gaze wasn't too kind. "If what happened to me, happened to you, would you want to wait it out in a cell? If your first true love were on the brink of dying, would you do everything you could to save them?"
My jaw dropped slightly, eyes nearly filling with tears as I looked down, thinking of Guy again. Thinking of him being on the brink of dying. Thinking of how I wanted to make him stop, but let him, because I loved him and he wanted me to. Because he wanted me to, to show that I really loved him. I wanted to stop him. I rubbed my eye, muttering silently. "Yeah... Yes, I would..."
I slowly reached my arm up to the tape recorder, shutting it off, sitting in silence as the guards came in and took my patient with them as they left.

I’m a paradox. I want to be happy, but I think of things that make me sad. I’m lazy, yet I’m ambitious. I don’t like myself, but I also love who I am. I say I don’t care, but I really do. I crave attention, but reject it when it comes my way. I’m a conflicted contradiction. If I can’t figure myself out, there’s no way anyone else has.
This one is a brute. Not civilized at all, nor will he ever be. I requested multiple guards, more than only two. I watched the door carefully, my heart racing in fear. Then, I saw it open. In he came, Killer Croc, followed by three guards. Because three is far more safe than two.
I smiled to Croc, who gave a breathy grunt in response. He sat in his seat, though I can't say he dominated it and took up more space than was offered to him. I lowered my gaze to my clipboard and jotted down some notes.
Clearly pays no interest nor mind to me
Likely wishes to be in his cell
I'd rather be in a cell as well...
I figured I should probably erase the last note, because colleagues will need to review them, but I decided against. They should all know what fear will be going through their minds when in the same room as him. I had no clue about the fear, and look at where I am.
I started the audio recorder.
"Patient interview 6. Patient, Waylon Jones, AKA Killer Croc." He gave a snarl in return. "Now's my feeding time, doc. I smell the fear on you. We both don't want to be here, and you won't want to be here even more if I'm not in my cell eating my dinner in a few minutes." A guard stepped between us. "Hey, Croc, how about you chill? You'll get your food when you're done with the session. More comments like that and your feeding time will be delayed."
"My food won't be put off..." Croc snarled, and looked at me with what I assume was supposed to be a smirk. "I'll just have something new on the menu."
In a frightened and loose attempt to lighten the mood, I spoke. "Well we don't want that, so I suggest we hurry along the session, hm?" I looked at my clipboard, then looked up to him. "I can understand your anger. We were all born different, and not many of us like our differences from others. I can understand where your anger comes from."
"No you don't, doc." He growled, clearly displeased with what I said. "You all have it perfect. You're all the same. I'm different, there's no one else like me. I'm not angry about it anymore. It scares you all. I like that. I like them when they're scared." His long tongue licked the tips of his sharp teeth. "More tender."
"So if you're happy you're different, why do you continue doing what it is you do? I heard you did it out of spite and anger."
"Well, you heard wrong. I don't do it out of anger anymore. I do it for their screams. Your high-pitched, human screams as I eat your flesh and bone."
I set my pencil down on my clipboard and pushed my glasses higher up the bridge of my nose. I thought I was gonna be sick. "I think that'll be all for right now. Enjoy your dinner, Croc."
I sat in my seat limply as the guards escorted him out. I knew if I stood I would fall. If I'm going to do more interviews with him, I'm going to need a wheelchair.
I heard the footsteps of her and the two guards, and the door opened. Ivy gave a scowl at me as the two guards shoved her in and followed her to her seat. She sat slowly, then gave a smile to me, before turning to the guards. "Would you mind getting me some water? Us plants need water."
I shook my head to the guards. "It may be best for you to stay with us." The guards nodded, and Ivy looked at me, angrily. "They're more obedient to me than you." She turned her head to them again. "Please, I need my water... Don't listen to her, she wants me to dehydrate." I shook my head again. "The guards aren't leaving, Ivy."
Ivy stood and spun around to face me, her hair whipped around as she did so. "I am stronger than you, human! They will obey me before they do you." A guard grabbed her shoulders and pushed her down in her seat. She stood and faced him, angry at his rejection towards her, and she grabbed his face with both hands, and quickly attempted to press her lips against his. Before she could, his hand smacked her across the face.
Being in the asylum, Ivy knew about the rule to not harm an inmate for no reason, and she gave a genuinely shocked expression and shouted loudly. "GUARDS!" She was hoping more guards would come in. Ones she could manipulate, and ones that could harm this guard who has just hit her. "I know the rules! I know you can't do that! One of the perks of a life sentence!"
The guard rubbed his hand, the one he slapped her with. "If you know the rules, you'll know I can hit an inmate when I feel threatened." Ivy rubbed her cheek, where he hit her, and smirked as she sat down and crossed one leg over the other. "Of course a powerless man would be threatened." Ivy smiled to me, and I turned on the audio recorder.
"Patient interview five, patient, Poison Ivy. Hello again, Ivy." I could tell Ivy was irritated and wanted away from me as soon as possible, given how easily she cooperated. "Hello, doctor. I hear you had an incident with the Scarecrow. He tried to do the same to you as I did, did he not? Us doctors are deadly. It'll probably happen to you, too."
I gave a chuckle. "I hope not. I enjoy my boring and lame life, thank you very much."
For the rest of the interview, she was civil. She answered questions in a respectful way, and didn't attack me or the guard again. I'm not sure if this is realization or just hope talking, but I think she can stomach me now.

Interview Poison Ivy? I don't want to anymore, but I suppose I will for my career.
I truly feared for myself at this time. He seemed far more dangerous than Ivy, but seems as though he can still behave civilized, so there's that.
I sat in the empty room, breathing deeply. I knew it would be all right. There's doctors located everywhere in the asylum. Doctors have saved me from what Ex-Dr. Isely had done to me, and they could save me from anything Ex-Dr. CRANE could do to me... I hoped.
I heard the security guards open the door and shove my patient in. I nodded to them and they left. They understood I always preferred to be alone with my patients, given I asked for such in all of my interviews so far. The Scarecrow is very smart, and I knew he would know about my habit of having security guards leave the room. If I had the guards stay, he'd know I was scared.
I smiled to him as he sat. He spoke politely to me. "Hello, Doctor." "And hello to you, Doctor." I joked. His face was kind, but I knew what he was hiding, and I knew he was capable of ending me here and now. I looked down at the audio recorder, then back up to him. "Do you mind if I start the interview right now?" He shook his head, indicating that he didn't mind.
 I started the audio recording.
"Patient interview four, Johnathon Crane, alias, the Sc--"
"I am not Crane. i am Scarecrow. Dr. Crane exists no longer."
I nodded politely. "Yes, Scarecrow. I apologize. Let us continue, shall we?" I looked at my clipboard. "I had been reviewing tapes between you and your ex-psychiatrists. Statistics show each of them became mentally unstable and have been reported stating that sessions with you is what had put them in such a state... I fear your obsession may be taken too far."
He stood, suddenly. "Yes, Doctor! You do fear! Fear is what has caused you to start this session with me earlier, because you want away from me sooner, because you fear me! Tell me, Doctor..." He got closer to me, frightening me. "What else do you fear?" He slowly reached down and pressed the end recording button on the audio recorder, and pulled a small bag filled with... some kind of powder, or dust, out of his sleeve.
His voice sounded like a hissing snake. "Do you not know, Doctor? Are you too scared to tell me? I wouldn't worry. You are about to find out." He untied the bag and dropped it, what it contained spilling and filling the air. Two guards came in, gas masks on their faces. "CRANE!" One grabbed him and drug him out of the room, and Scarecrow bothered not to fight, for his job was done. The other guard came to me and helped me up, placing a gas mask on my face and securing it. "Do you ever call for help?"
"Two inmates tried to kill me already..." I said, dizzy and trying to keep steady footing as the guard helped me walk to the exit. "Is now a bad time to ask for a raise?" I joked.
So a girl and her boyfriend like me and I like the girl and her boyfriend and her are both hot. What do
Well, if I'm going to be honest, I understand this sounds utterly cheesy, but do whatever your heart wants. If you really like them and wish for them to know, just tell them, make sure they understand your feelings, and what you want. If they want the same thing, they'll tell you.
Not very informative, alas, but to make it short and sweet, just do what you wish, without disrespecting someones limits.
Not that I know of. His file states he SHOULD take medication, but I believe my associate told me he refuses meds, even when they try to force feed him them.Signed,Dr. H. Quinzel
Do you believe in the saying nice girls or guys finish last?
No, I don't. Many people enjoy the presence of a nice person, so stating that "nice people finish last" honestly doesn't make sense. Being with a nice person is better than a not nice.Signed,Dr. H. Quinzel

Hi Dr. Harleen, would you consider the Batman the cause for so many mentally disturbed criminals in Gotham City? Do you think Batman himself might be mentally unstable?
I can't speak for many criminals, but for the Joker, absolutely. With the information Joker has given me, it only adds up that Batman is his cause.Signed,Dr. H. Quinzel
Hi Dr. Quinzel, have you met any of the members of the board of trustees of Arkham Asylum, like Bruce Wayne? That guy practically owns Gotham City. What are your impressions on him given his history (if you're familiar with it)?
No, I have not. A shame, really. I hope to meet some of them in the future.Signed,Dr. H. Quinzel

I apologize for not posting much as of late. I posted one of two patient interviews needing posted. I'll post the second either today before I sleep, or tomorrow morning. Nonetheless, it will be posted soon. Thank you all so much for being patient!
I held my head in a hand, looking down. God, it feels like my headache's never going to go away. I'm positive that the headache is due to the toxins Ivy had me inhale in our previous session. That wasn't TOO recently. The headache should be gone by now. Well, given that I've already inhaled some of her toxins, maybe I'll be more likely to be immune to it. Over time, I may be able to withstand the toxin.
Nonetheless, today is another interview with... The Joker. Thankfully, he is a patient I understand a bit more. I look forward to my interviews with him. It always makes me happy to be in an interview with him. I feel... Like he and I have some sort of a connection. It's quite interesting, really.
I heard footsteps outside the door. Only two sets this time. Looks like only one guard was bringing Joker today. Odd. Joker and the guard came in. The guard stood by the door and Joker rushed over to his chair which was on the opposite side of a coffee table than mine. He sat down and leaned forward, an actually upset and concerned look on his face.
"That mean houseplant didn't hurt you, did she? She told me about how she planned to kill you. And for me!" He gave one big loud laugh "It's like a present!" His voice lowered, almost in an angry mutter. "Not what I wanted for my birthday, but it beats a candle." He looked back at me and gave that big smile. "So, Doc. How are you feeling?" I gave a small smile, and lowered my hand from my head. "I'm quite all right Joker. You know, I'm supposed to be the one asking you questions." He gave a loud laugh again, and supposedly wiped a tear from his eye. "Oh Doc, you crack me up!"
I looked back towards the guard, and gave a slight nod. He nodded back in response, and left. I looked to Joker again. "So, what's say we get started on your interview?" Joker nodded. "Oh, all right. I was hoping some talking time like before, but I suppose the interview will have to suffice. Go on, start the recorder." I leaned over and turned on the recorder. I was about to state the interview number, when he spoke, almost like he planned on what to say right before the recorder started. "He's crazy, you know..." Confused, I leaned back in my chair and crossed a leg. "Who? ...Batman?" Joker gave a bored look "No, Santa Claus--OF COURSE, BATMAN! Always Batman!" I covered my mouth, hiding a slight giggle. Joker continued ranting.
"I see it in his eyes! Screaming mad starkers--And dishonest! Hiding his face behind a fright mask. Well no masks for me! I have nothing to hide! I laugh at the cruel absurdity of the world..." He inhaled, and his voice suddenly lowered. "But Batman... Batman, he's got them all FOOLED. He makes them think he can make a difference. That he can actually make things better. And the joke of it is... THEY ALL BELIEVE IT!" Intrigued, I leaned forward, eyes widening. "The police?" He stood, waving his arms around to express further his emotions.
"The police, the media, the frickin' JUNIOR RANGERS!" His voice raised, to the point of him yelling. "Every last sack of walking meat IN this urban cesspool!" His voice calmed quite quickly, and he looked me right in the eyes, still standing. "Listen, sweets, Batman knows we're all on the same funhouse slide into madness, why won't he admit it? He's up there in his belfry laughing at us! And the real gag is, the miserable liar is allowed to run free while I'm in here!"
I looked appalled, jaw dropped slightly. I understood his pain. I understand now. "That's really incisive..." Joker had a look of compassion in his eyes, as he looked at me and slowly sat back down in his chair. "But you understand, don't you?" You know why I do what I have to do." He was leaning in much closer. Closer to me, and closer to the recorder. His arm raising as he did so. "You know Gotham's only real savior... Is me..." As how he stated 'me' sent shivers up my spine, his raised arm quickly turned off the recorder. I felt like I should have argued, that he shouldn't have shut it off, but I honestly didn't have an issue with it. I was... Appalled at what Batman got away with while my poor patient is stuck here in this mental asylum... With me...
I sat there silently, and he spoke up. "I'm sorry if I scared you, Doc. Just comes naturally!" He gave a small chuckle. "Oh no, Joker. You didn't. I just... Can't believe Batman gets away with all that." I nodded slowly. "Yes, I understand why you do what you do. It's all you can do in your position. I get it..." I paused. "I--" The guard came back in, cutting off my statement as he came up and grabbed Jokers arm. Joker protested. "The lady was speaking!" The guard looked back at me. "Apologies, miss. We just found another inmates body collapsed on the ground, with the same symptoms Jokers victims have." Joker slightly gave a cartoon-ey shrug. "Whoops!" He laughed a loud, maniacal laugh as the guard dragged him out of the room, and the door slammed shut behind them.
