     Despite the name, this was a bit more upbeat than most post nuclear war movies. After WWIII, an Air Force bunker experiences the consequences of smoking around explosive gas, and the four survivors head off to Albany in a couple Uber ATVs.      Oops, I wanted to get a pic of the 50 Foot Woman, and then by the time she was giant, I had forgotten. Ah well, pretty low budget 50s B movie, and had a 30 foot man needing diamonds to run his “satellite”. It was definitely easier to stay awake to. Next up, Damnation Alley. ^_^

    Ooof, that was I guess an art film, and a terrible film to show at this time of morning. Minimal dialog, long slow scenes, almost no action, and I still don’t have any idea what it was about. It did have Scarlett Johannson though. Next up won’t be as sleep inducing, Attack of the 50 Foot Woman. ^_^

    Ken asked me earlier this evening whether I had seen all of the rest of the movies in the Thon, and I reviewed them and noted that I have seen Attack of the 50 Foot Woman, and maybe the Event Horizon. Well it turns out I had seen Event Horizon, which I consider a sci-fi horror movie. Lots of blood and gore. Right now another previous emcee, Tony, is doing a wake up exercises session. Next…

    Hmm, some aspects of this movie were pretty obvious from the start, though the basic concept was interesting. Slug like alien bad guy using human bodies to do whatever he wants, and not as obvious good guy alien hunting him down. In the pic, a stripper is taken over by tbad alien. Next film tonight, Event Horizon. ^_^

    Here are this year’s contestants for the paper airplane contest, and Chris, second from the left, got his dart up hear to the balcony. Impressive. Next up, The Hidden. ^_^

    This is a reasonably recent movie, so I don’t want to spoil anything. That said, it is a Jordan Peele movie, and the title hits home. I enjoyed it, as we approach the time of night when staying awake gets harder. ^_^

    Number two in the Alien series, this is a space action movie that keeps the surprises and action coming. Sigourney Weaver is in charge with the mama bear vibes. Next up Nope. ^_^

    “Major” Tom Chenelle, a former Thon emcee and Martian Liberation Organization founder gets the 2026 Shannon Maloney Award for his support of the Thon over the years. Prior to that we watched the Boston Scifi Year in Review for 1986, including Ahnold getting married and the Red Sox loosing the world series. Sigh. ^_^

    A popular sci-fi film that spawned a money making media empire, eventually gobbled up by Disney. This was the director’s, with added special affect. Personally, I prefer the original that I saw in the theaters so long ago. C3PO and R2D2 taking their changes crossing a gun fight. First time I saw both Quido and Han shoot.     What a fun film, everyone here clearly enjoyed it. A Japanese film with captions in English means paying more visual attention, though well worth it in this case. Yes, that is the main character talking to himself. Spoilers. Tickets for next year are on sale for an early bird discount, so Ken and I got ours. Next up Dune, the first one. ^_^

    The spaceship from earth lands on Altier(sp), where Leslie Nielson gets the girl and identifies the monster. Oh and Robbie the Robot makes 60 gallons of whiskey for the cook. There is now a Star Wars trivia contest in which we learn C3PO knows 11 million languages. Next up Beyond the Infinite Two Minutes. ^_^

    As Duck Dodgers explains how to get to planet X, we have started BSFM51 with our usual audience engaged short. The countdown was from 25 this time. And speaking of time, it is time for our first film, Forbidden Planet. ^_^
