🐾 ❝      heh   . .        ❞ —– man this human sure liked to ask a load of questions. it wasn’t horrible, he had somewhat of the same empowerment  (  and excitement   )  that michelangelo had at times so it was no biggie. the cat looked up at him, smirking as he pushed off the ground some to stand bipedal ; he wasn’t great at it but he could do it. it felt better than just being so small. 

❝       human’s are alright, even if i don’t spend a bunch of time around them than i used to. i have a different family now which is   much different  than the average  –  due to my mutation i have had some weird people come after me and my family but we’ve grown accustomed to giving them the slip here and there. but   .  .   i’m not so sure if they’d stop. or some groups. some groups don’t really care from what i find.          ❞

      He watched Klunk, fascinated, as the tom cat stood on his hind legs. He leaned forward for a closer look, almost as if he was making sure that his eyes weren’t deceiving him. It was apparent that the cat couldn’t balance enough to walk, but he could stand. That, in and of itself, was quite a feat. Even for one as nimble and light as a feline. “That is quite spectacular. How are you able to do that?” He asked, almost breathless. He knew he should let Klunk have time to answer the other questions he’d asked but... he couldn’t help it.

       I don’t imagine Eddy ever considering Sarah as a potential person to date. Not just because of how she treated him, but because of Ed. Eddy isn’t the best person out there, but I don’t think he’d consider dating one of his best friend’s sister. Can you imagine how awkward it’d be if Sarah ever decided to dump Eddy? Or if Eddy dumped Sarah?

“I don’t need anyone’s sympathy. I have a good job, with an unlimited fund toward my science. If anything, I’m doing better then I ever have!” It was a hallow excuse and he knew it, years of lying to oneself did that to someone.  “It’s great. I’m great.”

       Unfortunately, not much got past Eddward. “I once lived my life somewhat closely to how you do now. When I was younger, I used to make all the technology, amongst other things, for my friend’s scams. He never listened to me when I explained how things worked and he constantly ripped people off. So I got punished alongside him and Ed. I’m not saying that I was innocent, but I eventually snapped at Eddy. There’s only so much of something you can take. And I just had enough of how Eddy treated me.”

“My life is an unending spiral of chaos. I have only become a part of it, marching endlessly into the void with only my work at my side. I have become desensitized to the expectations of the human condition.” Flug just rambled. “There is nothing that anyone can do to change it, for I have accepted my role in this new chaos that has become my existence. Am I still human? We just don’t know.”

Him and his big mouth. Literally.

The one time he tries being ‘nice’ or ‘sensible’ in some regard and this is how it goes. Almost poetic really. This is why he sticks to being a prick. At least then people don’t shoot back with so many questions or sass. Usually anyway. Black Hat feared he was losing his edge.

“My existence currently is dealing with a couple of nutjobs that can’t follow even the most basic of orders. I went from being the most feared creature in the universe to being openly disrespected and mocked. I’d say miserable is a nice way of putting it.”

“Maybe because I am getting soft in my old age or I’m just bored. Maybe a terrible mix of the two. It was that or read today’s paper,” Or maybe he felt pity and genuinely understood Eddward’s situation. As a shape shifting monster who had assimilated female hosts, he’d dealt with something vaguely similar. Not that he’d ever admit it and not that those that had made such a slight had ever lived to regret it.

“It doesn’t matter because everything dies. This planet will die. The sun will explode and take with it this entire system. But I’ll still remain. In a few years I won’t even be able to remember your face or your voice. I’ll forget completely. Maybe I’ll be reminded of this delightful exchange, the next time I try to offer some advice despite my better judgement.”

“You shouldn’t look a gift horse in the mouth.”

      “Charming. Did you ever think that, perhaps, they can’t control who they are? I highly doubt that they choose to be failures. I know that I don’t get up every day saying, ‘You know what? I’m going to fail my test.’ Are they even the ones disrespecting and mocking you? If they’re not, then how can you say it’s their fault? Did you ever think of, I don’t know, talking to them? Rather than coming to your own assumptions of their behavior?”

      There was a pause, Eddward certainly had not intended for this to become a lecture. He felt incredibly embarrassed when Black Hat mentioned his age. Great, he was lecturing someone who had far more experiences in their lives than he. “O-Oh... m-my apologies. Are you really that o-old?” He took a few steps back, biting his lip as he contemplated the repercussions of his error. His parents always told him never to disrespect his elders and he felt awful for just doing so.

      He said nothing as Black Hat continued, his guilt beginning to grow. “I-I... I really do apologize. I did not mean for it to come across as me being ungrateful. I just... I thought that I sensed hypocrisy... And my curiosity got the best of me. I wasn’t thinking.” There was still an air of curiosity about him, despite his guilt, but he held his tongue. He wasn’t an idiot. He knew that Black Hat wouldn’t be answering any questions at that point.

🐾 ❝      klunk. hamato klunk  — but klunk is fine honestly  –  its the name i was given.       ❞ he replied, sitting and looking up at the human was more than interested in him before glancing off, pawing his muzzle with a small wince. it might be a bit much if he explained more than he should but  . .  this guy was curious.

❝      but go ahead. what’re your questions   ??    ❞

       “Oh! It’s a pleasure to meet you, Mister Klunk! My name is Eddward, but everyone calls me Double D.” It was only fair that he shared his name with the cat. Since the cat was being so patient and honest with him. Eddward could barely contain his excitement, however, when he was given the permission to ask Klunk his questions.
